Man United’s match against Coventry FC during the time of the FA Cup Semi-Finals there were lots of ups and downs as both teams performed well in their respective manner. The first half was dominated by Manchester United as Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire dominated and took control over Coventry. In the second half, Bruno Fernandes scores to extend the lead.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned for Man United because of their vulnerability in defense and the uninvited goals were conceded by United as Simms, O’Hare, and Wright scored the brace for Coventry. This exposed all of United’s horrendous style of play as they were sloppy after taking the lead. The carelessness owed them a debt of comeback against them.
As the full-time whistle blew, it was time for the extra time where United and Coventry were 0-0 draw. It was all decided in the penalties where Man United was defenseless again in terms of Penalties. Casemiro missed the penalty, and to cover the sign of humiliation Onana stood up and converted a tragedy into a victorious hope as he saved the penalty of O’Hare.
Shortly after the missing penalty, Sheaf shot the ball over the bar. Which gave United a final chance to end their humiliation and get away with an agitating victory. Rasmus Hojlund then came in and scored the goal advancing Manchester United into the FA Cup finals against Manchester City.

After the winning penalty, there were two types of players on the pitch which portrayed Manchester United as a club and as a moral. On a positive note, Harry Maguire was the only decent player to grace the positive morale and a true gesture of sportsmanship.
After the gritty and brave performance of Coventry, he consoled their players. On the other hand, Antony gave a very unprofessional and kiddish gesture to Coventry. Despite the efforts of Coventry, Antony lost his temperament and his productivity for the club.
Whereas, Rasmus Hojlund who scored the winning penalty started celebrating with the fans. The victory somehow felt undeserved from the perspective of the other United fans. Antony cupping his ears provoked all of the Coventry players and their fans.

Since he arrived in 2022, he has been facing a lot of criticism over his performance and his overused skills. Antony has been the most predictable player in the Premier League, when he has the ball with him he instead chooses to play by himself and avoids to pass at most of the time. Which allows defenders to take the ball away from him and makes his run even more worthless.
He had a total of 78 appearances in all competitions scoring only 10 goals, averaging only 0.12 goals per match. Therefore, as a winger, this is an outrageous record for a player especially to win more trophies and to uplift United’s game from misery. In this current season, he has only scored 2 goals although the season will come to an end in May.

United’s performance against Coventry may give Pep Guardiola a footmark of United’s performance when they face Man City. Despite the victory, the main thing that is concerning is how United is supposed to play against City with this type of game they have been using for a very long time.
