Manchester United have inked a new deal with one of their star players this past week, Mainoo, retaining him for at least another year. By shaking hands and coming to an agreement with this new contract, United have put in their works their land to rebuild in the off-season and come back stronger next year in the Premier League.
United underperformed for the entirety of the 2023-2024 season, so they have a goal in mind to rebuild their squad, strengthen their team, and finish inside of the top five in the Premier League table for the new season.
And by signing this long-term contract with one of their stand-out players from last season, they can guarantee promising things looking to the future.
Mainoo Signs Long-Term Deal with United
Kobbie Mainoo is one of the brightest young players in the Premier League at the moment. He has made it clear from the start that he wants to stay at Manchester United, even through tough times, losing spells, and managerial changes. So, the club rewarded him for his favorable playing and unwavering loyalty by providing him with a new salary that is around TRIPLE what his current wages are per week.
Mainoo was on a significant amount of money before from the club for a young player who hasn’t received that many first-team minutes. But, with his playing style last year, devotion to the club, and guarantee for the future, United provided him with a lucrative deal that doesn’t expire until 2026.
Mainoo broke through into the first team this past season and has shown why he deserves to be on the pitch. His chats with the manager, board, and other members of the Club indicated that with regular first-team appearances, he should be closer to a first-team salary – and so he has.
Currently, the young star is on a $20,000+ per week deal – a hefty sum for most professions or all youngsters in the league who are looking to get into the first team. But, now that he has made numerous senior appearances and contributed to the success of the club, he is on a whopping $60,000+ per week.

Manchester United Make More Deals
Manchester United Are keen to keep other youngsters who can help the club progress and grow throughout the years. They have also been in talks with one of the most promising youthful players in the league, Garnacho, the speedy and skillful winger who became famous once making appearances for the Reds and doing Ronald’s iconic celebrations.
Garnacho signed a new deal with the club last year, but he hopes to improve on his current status since he started all 28 matches for the club this season in various competitions. He is a consistent first-team player, so United might have to dig in their pockets to find the funds that reflect Garnacho’s role on the team.
This past season, United didn’t do as well as they had hoped. They ended in eighth place behind Newcastle and just in front of West Ham United and Crystal Palace. They ended the season with a slew of bad results, losing to Arsenal 1-0, getting thrashed 4-0 by Crystal Palace, and drawing against Burnley to end the season on a lackluster vibe.
This upcoming year, Manchester United hope that keeping their young players will bring a new sense of energy and desire to the team. Players like Mainoo, Garnacho, Holjund, and Diallo can increase the energy of a squad, whereas Rashfrod, Casemiro, and Fernandes can add experience and depth to the team.
