Luke Riley produced the nastiest knockout of the night at Cage Warriors 178 in Manchester last night. The up-and-coming Thai featherweight contender did not take time in the main event as he produced a brutal one-punch knockout that electrified the BEC Arena. Those watching MSL matches to catch Luke Riley in action rose in anger as their local boy flexed muscles and accuracy.
Luke Riley’s Flawless Knockout
Luke Riley, known for his striking ability, did not disappoint the crowd. Within moments of the fight beginning, he delivered a very accurate punch that fell the man to the ground. BEC Arena erupted with joy as fans cheered over Luke Riley’s great performance in the fight. This win also helped establish Luke Riley as the next big star in the featherweight division, and they are now looking forward to his next fight.
Another local fighter that evening was Ieuan Davies, who taught a grappling lesson to Amaury Junior, making him tap out. Right from the onset, Davies ensured he won the fight by beating his opponent. Manchester fans jubilated as Davies continued to grind through the submission process until Junior succumbed to the tap. This was a magnificent display by Davies, and he went home the winner with the crowd giving him a standing ovation.
Jack ‘The Ripper’ Humphries Dominates
Jack Humphries, practically a brute in the ring, was aptly nicknamed ‘The Ripper’, and he did not disappoint today. From the sound of the first bell, Humphries seized the fight by constantly engaging his foe with ground and pound. His assertiveness on the dance floor saw him receive a large reception from the spectators of the BEC Arena.
Akin to the first fight of the night, the next match between Gavin Hughes and Dean Trueman was nothing short of exciting. Both fighters delivered powerful punches and clinched on subs and ties on the ground and the feet, but Hughes was the dramatic stoppage winner. In the end, reaching the crunch of the fight, Hughes continued the pressure and was awarded the victory he deserved, and spectators desired more from the strenuous battle seen in the contest.
George McManus’ Wild Submission
In one of the wildest finishes of the night, George McManus submitted Dara Ward with an armbar that initially went unnoticed by the referee. Ward appeared to tap out, but the referee missed it in real-time. That being the case, upon replay review, the cage side panel changed the decision to grant McManus the submission win. It was one of the most exciting moments, illustrating that everything in MMA is possible.
