The Los Angeles Rams signed veteran Running Back Boston Scott to a one-year contract on Tuesday night. The exact details of the contract are unknown at this time. Scott had 20 carries for 86 yards last season as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Scott joins a loaded Rams backfield that includes Running Backs Kyren Williams and 2024 third round pick Blake Corum out of the University of Michigan.
How will Scott fit in with a Los Angeles Rams team that is set to enter the 2024 season with lofty expectations?

Scott was drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints out of Louisiana Tech. He never played a game for the Saints as Scott was released by New Orleans late in his rookie season. The Philadelphia Eagles claimed the running back off waivers late in his rookie season and he remained in the “City of Brotherly Love” ever since. Scott had 302 carries and 16 rushing touchdowns during his six-year stint with the Eagles.
Scott was deemed expendable once the team signed star Running Back Saquon Barkley earlier this NFL Offseason. Scott was never the lead back in Philadelphia, and the same will be true in Los Angeles, but he is a veteran player who can do a bit of everything on the gridiron.
Los Angeles Rams Look To Build On Last Season
The Los Angeles Rams exceeded expectations last season as they finished second in the NFC West with a record of 10-7. Los Angeles narrowly lost to the Detroit Lions, 24-23, in the Wild Card Round of the NFL Playoffs last season and will look to go even further in 2024.
Los Angeles lost one of the best players in NFL history when Defensive Tackle Aaron Donald announced his retirement earlier this offseason. Los Angeles attempted to fill the sizable hole left by Donald by drafting Edge Rusher Jared Verse out of Florida State with the 19th overall pick in last week’s draft.
Boston Scott Joins A Loaded Los Angeles Rams Team
Scott joins a high-powered Los Angeles Rams offense led by a devastating triple treat consisting of Quarterback Matthew Stafford and Wide Receivers Cooper Kupp and rookie standout Puka Nacua. Nacua was fourth in the National Football League last season with 1, 486 receiving yards in his rookie campaign. The Los Angeles offense was seventh in total yards per game at 359.3 and eighth in points per game at just a shade under 24.
The Los Angeles Rams should be one of the best teams in the NFC next season, and signing a player like Scott will provide the team with another veteran presence as they chase another Lombardi Trophy.
