According to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, Los Angeles Rams Tight End Tyler Higbee returned to practice earlier today. Higbee has been sidelined for the entirety of the 2024 season following a Torn MCL and ACL he suffered in LA’s Wild Card Playoff loss to the Detroit Lions in January. Los Angeles Rams Head Coach Sean McVay said a few weeks ago that Higbee is a few weeks away from returning to the gridiron, but is “out here doing his thing, he’s leading in his own way.”
While Higbee is on the road to return, he is not expected to play on Sunday when the Los Angeles Rams hit the road to take on the New Orleans Saints. He has been a critical piece for the Rams since he was drafted by the team in 2016. Higbee was a critical piece of a Los Angeles Rams team that won Super Bowl LVI. He had 9 receptions and 115 yards over the playoff run. Higbee has 353 career receptions, 3,602 receiving yards, and 22 receiving touchdowns. Will Higbee’s return help the Rams offense get going?

The Los Angeles Rams(5-6) have struggled to find their footing in 2024, and one of the main reasons has been injuries. Wide Receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua have been sidelined this season at various times, and the offense has suffered. Higbee’s injury has hurt the offense as well. Los Angeles also only has 36 receptions from the tight end position this season.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford has also not been at his best this season. While he is sixth in the league in passing yards, he only has 15 touchdowns through 12 games. Los Angeles’ slow start has their playoff chances on life support. Their playoff chances sit at a mere 10%. The Rams offense has been mediocre this season as they are 17th in total yards per game and 20th in points scored. LA’s offense has not been as strong in years past, and it has them in a rough spot heading into Week 13.
Final Thoughts
The Los Angeles Rams are entering a tough part of their schedule. The New Orleans Saints are fighting the Rams for playoff seeding in the NFC and following their road game, Los Angeles welcomes the Buffalo Bills to town on December 8. Higbee cannot return to the field soon enough as the Rams are in dire need of his production as Los Angeles has little margin of error as they look to make a playoff push.
