Los Angeles Dodgers Star Pitcher With Poor Start Against Divisional Rival On May 13

Rookie

Los Angeles Dodgers Starting Pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto struggled on Monday night against the San Francisco Giants. He tossed 5.2 innings and surrendered four earned runs while striking out six. Los Angeles would go on to defeat the Giants 6-4 in 10 innings thanks to a two-run double by Catcher Will Smith.

Four earned runs was the second-most that Yamamoto has surrendered in his rookie season in Major League Baseball. Even with a rough start last night, Yamamoto is 4-1 this season with an ERA of 3.21. He entered Monday’s game with a 2.79 ERA, good enough for top 15 in the league. He is now 33rd in that department.

Yamamoto has still had a great rookie season up until this point. He has four starts this season where he surrendered zero earned runs. Will Yamamoto be able to bounce back the next time he takes the mound?
