Teoscar Hernández launched his 30th home run of the year on Friday night at home versus the Colorado Rockies. The home run helped push the Los Angeles Dodgers to victory over the Rockies with a final score of 6-4. Will Hernández continue his powerful run as they gear up for the postseason?

Hernández has the second-most home runs for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season. His 30th long ball came in the bottom of the sixth inning as the score was tied 3-3. His go-ahead solo shot put the Dodgers up by one. The exit velocity was a startling 114.1 MPH off the bat.
His 30th trip around the bases is the second time in his career he has hit 30+. The first time he did it was in 2021 with the Toronto Blue Jays. He finished the year with 32 home runs. With eight games remaining in the regular season, Hernández may be able to surpass his career high.
As Ohtani and Hernández lead the team in home runs, this was the 11th game of the season in which both of them have hit a home run in the same game. This is a testament to Hernández’s consistency and effectiveness at the plate all season long. In a post-game interview with Sportsnet LA, Hernández spoke on his approach at the plate and how that has contributed to his consistency.
“You know it’s the end of the season. Trying not to do too much is what has been working for me so far the whole season,” said Hernández. “I’m trying to do the same things and the things I need to do to help the team win. For me, that is what’s important right now.”

The reigning home run derby champion wants nothing more than to stay with the Los Angeles Dodgers. When speaking in a mid-game interview, Hernández expressed his thoughts on staying with the team.
“It’s been great. I want to stay and I think everybody knows it. I want to be a part of this team for three, four, five years to come, but it’s not in my hands,” Hernández stated. “It has to do with the Dodgers and it’s in their hands. I’m just trying to do my best and do the things I have to do.”
