Los Angeles Angels Zach Neto With Tremendous Game

Los Angeles Angels Zach Neto made history on Thursday.

Los Angeles Angels Shortstop Zach Neto had a night to remember this evening at Yankee Stadium. He had a career-high six RBI as the Los Angeles defeated the New York Yankees 8-2. LA’s bullpen deserves immense credit as they tossed five scoreless innings tonight against the high-powered Yankees offense. Neto got off to a hot start this evening and kept it going in “The Big Apple.” He hit a grand slam in the top of the second inning and had a two-run double in the fourth inning. He finished the game 3-of-5 with six RBI.

Neto has been swinging a strong bat since he entered New York. He had two RBI  in the first game of today’s doubleheader and four RBI on Saturday against the New York Mets. Neto is hitting .261 this season with 16 home runs and 59 RBI. Will he be able to keep up his strong play as the Los Angeles Angels look to finish off the 2024 regular season well?

Zach Neto Career Summary

Neto made his debut with the Los Angeles Angels last season. He entered the 2023 season with lofty expectations as he was the No. 2 prospect in the Angels farm system and the 13th overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft. Neto is a career .244 hitter with 25 home runs and 93 RBI.

Los Angeles Angels Angels Career Summary

It has been a rough season for the Angels(50-64). They are in fourth place in the American League West and 12.5 games back of the third and final American League Wild Card spot. LA’s offense has been weak this season, notwithstanding tonight’s performance. They are 22nd in batting average, 23rd in home runs, and 26th in runs scored. Their offense is paced by Neto who is tied for second on the team in batting average, tied for the team lead in home runs, and leads Los Angeles in RBI.

The pitching staff of the Los Angeles Angels has also been weak this season. They are 27th in ERA, 27th in strikeouts, and 22nd in WHIP. Their pitching staff is led by Tyler Anderson. He leads the team in wins(8) and is 12th in the league with a 3.05 ERA.

Angels Upcoming Schedule

Los Angeles plays the final game of their series with the New York Yankees tomorrow afternoon. The Los Angeles Angels begin a three-game set with the Washington Nationals on Friday. After another rough season, the Angels will miss the MLB Playoffs for the 10th straight season. Angels fans hoping 2024 would be their year will again be left with an offseason of disappointment.
