Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout has announced the position he will play heading into the 2025 regular season. Trout and the Angels decided it would be best for him to move to right field in an effort to preserve his body. He had been an everyday center fielder over the last decade. Unfortunately, the four-time AL MVP has been unable to stay healthy in recent years.
He has only played 100+ games in one of the last four seasons as various injuries have kept the all-time great sidelined. Trout tore his meniscus in April 2024 which limited him to 29 games. Will a move to right field help Trout stay on the field for the Los Angeles Angels?

Los Angeles is coming off a disappointing 2024 season. They finished 63-99 and missed the MLB Playoffs for a 10th consecutive season. They had an active offseason signing Closer Kenley Jansen, Infielder Yoan Moncada, Starting Pitcher Yusei Kikuchi, and Starting Pitcher Kyle Hendricks.
LA’s offense will be led by Catcher Logan O’Hoppe and Second Baseman Luis Rengifo. Trout will look to revitalize a Los Angeles Angels offense that was poor last season. They were 28th in batting average, 22nd in home runs, and 28th in runs scored.
Final Thoughts
The Los Angeles Angels could be in for a long season if Trout cannot return to his form from a few seasons ago. He used to be one of the best players in the league, and on a GOAT trajectory, before injuries stripped him of his prime.
