Liverpool: Title Hopes Dwindle After a Huge 2-0 Away Loss

liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side might have to see their title hopes come to an end after a big loss this past week. Despite playing extremely well all season long, and proving doubters wrong, the UK team has had a string of poor results in the Premier League and European competition that has dampened the spirit of the fans, players, and coaching staff.

Can Jurgen reignite the passion we saw from Liverpool a few months back? Or are they now officially out of contention for winning the last Premier League trophy that Klopp could ever get his hands on?

Liverpool Might Have Thrown Away First Place in the Premier League

Jurgen Klopp and his Reds might have just seen their first-place dreams dashed right before their very eyes.

Even after a disappointing loss to Crystal Palace last week, everyone still thought that the Reds could pull it together to give Klopp the managerial send off that he deserves. But now that Liverpool FC have lost 2-0 to a struggling Everton side, that might be too far out of reach now for the German manager’s side.

In the latest Merseyside game, we saw an incredible upset when Everton scored two goals to nil to see Liverpool almost surely give up their first place in the Premier League for good. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a consistent goal scorer for the Toffies, and Jarrad Branthwaite, both netted for their team to send Liverpool packing from their home ground.

It wasn’t only that Everton beat the now-third-place team, it was that the team looked desperate, tired, unmotivated, and lackluster throughout the entire game.

Not to mention, this is the first time in over 14 years that Everton has beaten Liverpool at home in the EPL.

How can Klopp turn it around? Fans think it is too little too late.

Many pundits, fans, and analysts say that Jurgen’s reign is over and his time as LFC manager in contention for a title spot has officially come to an end.

‘Arsenal and Manchester City must have a very bad moment…I can only apologize for today to the people. We should have done better but we didn’t, and that’s why we lost. Obviously very disappointed about a lot of things. We let it happen, then it became the game Everton wanted. But we were not good enough…I didn’t expect that today, but it happened.’

A dejected and disappointed manager tries to stay positive amidst a depressing feeling in the Liverpool camp. LFC fans can only hope Klopp’s perennial optimism can power through his team for the last few rounds.

What is Next for Klopp and Liverpool Before His Time Comes to an End

Klopp only has four more games remaining before he is no longer a Liverpool or Premier League manager. LFC fans forget the times before Klopp came to take over, bringing his infamous smile, cool catchphrases, and attitude that the players love so much.

Liverpool faces West Ham away on Saturday in the Prem, hoping to grab a much-needed three points to get them back on track. On the other hand, Manchester City play Brighton this week and Arsenal vs. Tottenham, this weekend. It would be great for the Reds if City and Arsenal both dropped points, surprisingly, to the lower-placed teams.
