Ruthless Turkish Giants Could Snag Liverpool’s Out-of-Favor Midfielder for 2024-2025 Season

Liverpool FC has a deep bench to choose from for every single game. Although it seemed like Jurgen Klopp didn’t bring in enough players at the beginning of the 2023-2024 Premier League season, the competition increased as time went on. Even talented players like Jota and Diaz would find themselves starting on the bench, out of favor to strikers like Nunez and wingers like Salah.

Competition is healthy and needed in any team to propel players to perform at their best consistently. But if you are ‘forgotten’ and left behind, it could be time to find another coach who wants to give you a chance. And this is exactly what is happening to a young rising star at Liverpool who may look to take his talents elsewhere.

Galtasaray Might Purchase Liverpool Young Midfielder for Next Season

You wouldn’t expect a top Liverpool player at the beginning of their career to make the jump from the English Premier League to the Turkish League – but that is what might happen. Ryan Gravenberch, a talented young transfer from Bayern Munich, might head to the Turkish league due to limited minutes in the EPL.

But why?

So far this season, he has only seen limited minutes. Despite being just 21 years old, he was hoping to get more playing time from his move from the German Bundesliga to the top flight of English football.

And since Liverpool bought Gravenberch for a hefty 40 million euros, they might look to get rid of him and save that money for someone else. Especially since other midfielders like Harvey Elliott and Endo are stepping up and playing exceptionally well.

Galtasaray needs to bolster its ranks moving forward. This could be a very good strategic move for the Turkish side, which needs to boost its midfield talent and depth. This season, Galtasaray has struggled in the midfield, especially in terms of physicality, versatility, and dynamic movement off the ball. Gravenberch can bring all three to his potential new team.

The club’s officials are looking to spend no more than 25 million euros on the young midfielder, with an option for a loan deal for one year. We think this could be a smart choice for both parties, as Gravenberch is no doubt looking to get more first team minutes before the EURO 2024 competition.

Gravenberch At Liverpool

So far this year at Liverpool, he has played 22 matches and scored one goal for the Merseyside team. Although that number of matches is nothing to shake your head at, with the number of games Liverpool has played this year, that is much less than his counterparts.

Prior to arriving at Liverpool, his promising youth career and time at Bayern made him a key signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side going into the 2023-2024 Premier League season. Gravenberch was a crucial player for Ajax during the 2020-2021 season but dropped to Bayern’s bench for the 2021-2022 Bundesliga season.

And, unfortunately, he found himself on the bench again at Anfield.

Stand-out players like Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo have pushed Gravenberch way down on the depth charts. However, at just 21 years old, we think that staying at Liverpool can help him develop as a player. But, if he is keen on playing time this upcoming season, the financially-backed Turkish side might be able to turn his head.
