Liverpool is losing one of their promising young players to another Premier League team after he didn’t get enough playing time last season. A creative and dynamic midfielder is now on his way to Brentford after Klopp, since retired, did not give the youngster enough playing time to break into the team and feel valued as part of a squad member. Now, we have to watch as he goes to Brentford in a surprising move from the Reds.

Brentford has signed a dynamic, creative, and fast midfielder who had limited minutes for Liverpool last year, but showed tons of talent and promise. Fabio Carvalho, a young Portuguese midfielder who has represented his country at the underage level, has made the switch to Brentford in the Prem after lacking playing time in the 2023-2024 campaign.

The deal was worth around $35 million, which is a great deal for Liverpool to sell the midfielder who didn’t make a huge impact. And, in return, Brentford will get a young player who wants to prove his worth and has shown what he is capable of in small sprouts on the pitch.

Liverpool will hope to have a strong midfield this season, as they want to challenge for contention to win the league. They will have to do more than they usually do to topple the ever-winning City from first place. Liverpool was in first for numerous weeks last year, but it all imploded late on in the season when they lost crucial games and Arsenal took over first place.

This year, they will most likely start Szoboszlai as a #8 midfielder, the Hungarian who had a great impact last year, along with Mac Allister, the Argentinian who moved from Brighton to Liverpool two years ago, and possibly Curtis Jones or Harvey Elliott, two England-born young players who have tons of promise.

Fabio Carvalho Stats

Carvalho is a 21-year-old who is English-born but represents Portugal at an underage level in international tournaments. The youngest has tons of years of football left in him, so it is a huge move for him to already be in the Premier League at a young age.

He started his youth career at Benfica and then moved to Balham and Fulham once he moved to England when he was just 11 years old. Then, he stayed at Fulham where he went on to make 40 appearances for the senior team, scoring eleven goals in the process. At this time, he was just 18 years old, showing his longevity and promise in the league.

Liverpool took note of the youngster who was making headlines in the Prem and signed him in 2022. At Liverpool, he had successful loan spells at RB Leipzig and Hull City, where he went on to make nine and 20 appearances, respectively. He now goes to Brentford for the 2024-2025 season, going to break into the starting eleven and get more regular first-team appearances.
