Lionel Scaloni was pleased with his team’s intriguing 3-0 victory against Chile. The Argentine was full of praise for his team. He specifically talked about Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho who came in as a substitute and had an assist in the game. Garnacho assisted Dybala for the team’s third goal in the 90th minute to seal Argentina’s victory against Chile.
The Argentines will continue their 2026 World Cup qualifiers, this time against a very tough Colombian team. Argentina had won against Colombia 1-0 in the Copa America final in July, however, they anticipate this second time meeting to be more aggressive from their opponents.

Lionel Scaloni spoke about Alejandro Garnacho, referencing his influence in the game. He said: “Today it was Alejandro’s turn. Surely some will think that he could have entered earlier or not. We decided to bring him in at that moment. We need him to get into the team’s way of playing. Today he understood everything, he did everything well. He made the right touch when he had to make the right touch and stopped when he had to stop. He is a player who can contribute a lot to us.”
Scaloni added more saying: “It has to be done calmly because we have to take it little by little. He will play like the other players and he will give us a lot of joy”.
Julian Alvarez on the Victory
Julian Alvarez scored an amazing goal and assisted Alexis Mac Allister, in Argentina’s win against Chile. Afterward, the Atletico Madrid man had his views on the game, he said: “What we have been doing is very nice. We have generated a very nice connection with the people. Let’s hope it continues like this for the future. We have a good time, it’s nice to meet at the training complex, to spend the days together. The group is very good, very united, getting stronger and stronger”.
He continued over their next fixture which is against Colombia. He said: “We know what the match with Colombia is going to be like, it’s going to be difficult after playing the final.”
Paulo Dybala on the game
Paulo Dybala came in as a substitute to give Argentina the third goal. He spoke about returning to the national team, and he said: “I am happy to be back, to be with my teammates and with these special people. When you put on this jersey you have to give your best. I thought I wasn’t going to be there, that I wasn’t going to come back, but I came back, I played and I was able to score.”
He continued saying: “It was a crazy few weeks. One of the reasons why I wanted to stay in Rome was to be here, to stay in the national team and with my teammates”.
Dybala also spoke about their coach Lionel Scaloni, referring to his influence in the team. He said: “I have known Leo (Scaloni) for a long time. We always had a very good relationship and from the first day, we had a good dialogue. That is very nice for the player. You always want to be there but you understand that the National Team is very rich in players. You always try to give your best”.
