Leicester City usually isn’t at the top of the list for big-name clubs in terms of recruiting players who can make a difference to their squad. Of course they have huge names and legends like Jamie Vardy, who helped Leicester earn promotion and stayed with his boyhood club, but Leicester have struggled ever since rising up to the Premier League ranks.
Because of this lack of consistency and player transfers, Leicester City dropped back down to the Championship. Even so, they are now at the top of the table with97 points above Ipswich Town and Leeds United.
Their incredible performance this season has turned many Premier League managers’ heads to see if they can poach some promising players from the league below.
One player in particular has made a name for himself this 2023-2024 season. Will he move a step up to the coveted English Premier League next year with a new team, or remain loyal to Leicester?

Leicester City has a talented squad that ranges from veterans to up-and-coming teenagers and young adults who are breaking into the game. One of the most promising young players who is sure to make a difference in the PL in the upcoming decade is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Dewsbury-Hall is a young midfielder who has tons of attention from Premier League clubs for next year, such as Brentford, Brighton, and Fulham. Since Leicester is moving up, it is worth wondering if he will stay with his current club or transfer to another city in England.
Dewsbury-Hall has a price tag of just 30 million pounds, which is fair considering his young age, experience, and talent. He is an established academy player who can add quality and depth to another Championship team or Premier League squad.
In the midfield for Leicester City, he has amassed more than 3,620 minutes in the last year, clocking in numerous kilometers, stringing together passes, making defensive tackles, and bringing creativity to the LCFC squad.
He is an attacking-minded midfielder which could help Premier League teams who are struggling to create chances in the final third. He is in the 99% rankings in terms of projected goals and chances created per game, showing his effectiveness at passing assists and finishing when he is close to the goal.
Plus, he is not only top-tier in terms of finishing. He is a possession-based midfielder who enjoys connecting passes between his defenders and the front line to build out of the back and create an attack. He is ranked as 98% in terms of successful carries (dribbles) with the ball and 90% during a take-on with another player.
Finally, he is not a liability on defense like other attacking midfielders could be. He has intelligent positioning to be in the right spot at the correct times to provide balance to his other midfielders, pick up his mark, and avoid counterattacks.

What is Next for Leicester City F.C.
Leicester City recently secured promotion to the Premier League after winning the Championship, the second tier of English football. They amassed 97 points and edged out Ipswich Town to claim the top spot with a final win yesterday against Preston.
Another big-name move that could happen before Leicester City move to the Premier League is Jamie Vardy. As a 37-year-old, he is at the end of his career, but he remains a huge figure in the club’s history and presence in the dressing room.
Even though he is ‘past his prime, he started Leicester’s final game against Preston on the last game day of the season. Plus, he played in 34 matches this year, scoring 18 goals and providing two assists. It seems as though he is only getting better with age.
Will the club keep him and sell Dewsbury-Hall, or vice versa? Only time will tell what the coaching staff wants to do to rebuild the squad for next year.
