The Las Vegas Raiders are finally getting their home opener in week three. If there was a game they should win easily hypothetically, it’s this one.
The Carolina Panthers are limping into this game. They went 2-15 last season and opened this season with two bad losses to the Saints and Chargers. They’ve benched promising young quarterback Bryce Young for veteran Andy Dalton.
Dominate Like They’re Capable Of Doing
This is a game for the Las Vegas Raiders to show what they are capable of. The Panthers are on paper, the worst team in the league. This game needs to end up with a similar result to last year’s games against the Chargers and Giants. This game is a potential trap game for them to fall into if they aren’t careful. At the same time, if they go out and play the way they’re capable of, this is a game that the Las Vegas Raiders should win convincingly. Coming off of last week’s comeback victory over the Ravens, they can’t overlook anybody.
Andy Dalton is 4-0 Against Las Vegas
This is a streak that needs to be snapped. Dalton’s last performance against the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 was one of the more embarrassing efforts by the Raiders in recent years. Even worse, Dalton has put up performances like that in all four wins that he has against Las Vegas.
In four games, Dalton has thrown for 708 yards, seven touchdowns, and zero interceptions on 94 attempts. He’s had the “Silver and Black’s” number at every turn. Las Vegas’ defense needs to make Dalton uncomfortable if they wish to come away with a win.
Running Game Needs To Get Going
A big part of this is the play of the offensive line. Kolton Miller is obviously still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery but there’s no way he will sit out. You’d have an easier time trying to convince a raging bull not to charge you.
In two games, the Las Vegas Raiders have 98 yards rushing. Zamir White and Alexander Mattison are too talented to be held down for too long. Look for them to finally get going on Sunday to at least cross the century mark for the season and give the Panters a hard time.
Prediction
This is the closest game that the Las Vegas Raiders will have that could hypothetically be considered an easy win. At the same time, every sports fan in the world knows there’s no such thing as an easy win. This is a game that in the past has seen the Raiders trip over themselves on their way to a crushing defeat. At the same time, this is a different team under Antonio Pierce. The defense will be a key factor in why they win this one. Dalton’s winning streak against them will be snapped at the “Death Star,” get the victory cigars ready.
