Las Vegas Raiders Star Maxx Crosby Fires Back At Critic

Maxx Crosby reaffirmed his plans to remain a member of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Last week, former NFL executive Michael Lombardi hinted that Maxx Crosby wanted to leave the Las Vegas Raiders. Crosby denied the idea. Now, Crosby has stepped out on his podcast “The Rush with Maxx Crosby” and doubled down. Confirming his commitment to the team, Crosby said that he has no plans on leaving Las Vegas any time soon. Crosby said that critics like Lombardi have no clue what’s going on with the team.

Lombardi’s Been a Consistent Raider Critic

Crosby also stated, “Everyone knows why you don’t like the Raiders” toward Lombardi. He finished talking about Lombardi by saying “Be a man and talk to me.” It’s evident that Lombardi didn’t speak to Crosby before he went on the “Pat McAfee Show.” This caused Crosby to get angry. Lombardi accused Crosby of having a rift with the team, and that’s why he sat out with an injury in their win against Cleveland.

It should be noted that Lombardi does have a personal axe to grind. He was once employed by Al Davis as an executive. He was fired in 2007. His son was recently the offensive coordinator in Las Vegas but was fired by the team in 2023. Lombardi has always been a harsh critic of the Las Vegas Raiders over the years. Previously he ripped Head Coach Antonio Pierce for speaking about the “Raider Way.”

Crosby’s Tired Of the Noise

This is the second time this week Crosby stated he wants to be part of the Las Vegas Raiders. After their loss to Denver, it’s evident he’s sick of the outside noise. Every week, there’s new drama surrounding the team. Head Coach Pierce’s assertion of the team making business decisions, Pierce’s suspension by the NCAA for eight years, and the Davante Adams trade request are examples.

It’s normal to feel frustration. The Las Vegas Raiders are constantly in the news for all of the wrong reasons and have been for most of their existence. In Crosby’s time with the team, he’s seen the Antonio Brown fiasco, the 2021 season and all of its drama, as well as the mistake named Josh McDaniels. There might not be another superstar in NFL history who’s put up with as much as Crosby has.

Conclusion

Pressure can burst pipes, but it can also help create diamonds. Either the Las Vegas Raiders will break to pieces or they can come together. Crosby stated on his podcast after the loss to Denver that “everybody was in there taking accountability for what happened.” We’ve been hearing that after every single loss this season, but maybe this time it’s different. Either they come together or they will fall together.

Next week, they return home to play the Pittsburgh Steelers. It will be up to Crosby and Pierce to block out the noise. The distractions are mounting from all sides. It’s almost overwhelming at this point. With the Adams rumors intensifying, it’s relieving for “Raider Nation” to know that Crosby isn’t going anywhere. Hopefully, the Las Vegas Raiders turn this ship around because this has been painful to see.
