Las Vegas Raiders 3 Keys To Beat The Cleveland Browns

The Las Vegas Raiders enter an important game on Sunday.

The Las Vegas Raiders are stumbling into a 1-2 matchup this Sunday. Their game against the Cleveland Browns is a must-win for both teams. A loss here could be fatal for both team’s playoff chances. Both teams are led by tough defenses but have been stifled by offensive inefficiencies. Both teams are 1-2 and are in a win-now mentality.

Last week was a letdown for the Las Vegas Raiders. They need to leave last week in the can where it belongs. They know however 2-2 is substantially better than 1-3. Will the Raiders be able to win on Sunday and keep hope alive that 2024 could be a successful year?

Get The Ball To Adams/Bowers

Currently, the Las Vegas Raiders have the 32nd-ranked rushing offense. The offense has looked anemic for 11 of the 12 quarters of football that this team has played. The one quarter that they looked like a well-oiled machine resulted in the only win they have this season.

That quarter featured a game plan that heavily showcased stars Davante Adams and Brock Bowers. Last week, the Las Vegas Raiders forced a running game that wasn’t working even when down by 20 and they lost. Focus on getting the ball in the hands of your best playmakers and it’ll present the best chance of winning.

Maxx Crosby’s Health In Question

Everybody knows Maxx Crosby will play on Sunday. The question is whether or not Crosby will be healthy enough to make an impact on the game. He has a high ankle sprain and last week it certainly showed. He registered a pass breakup but didn’t have a sack for the first time this season, in addition to missing snaps for the first time in 2024.

Without Crosby, the Las Vegas Raiders don’t have a viable edge rush on either side. Their edge rushers are Charles Snowden and Tyree Wilson, a former top-10 pick who hasn’t played up to his potential yet. If Crosby isn’t healthy enough to be the game-wrecker he consistently is, the defense becomes a major concern. That’s despite the Browns missing both starting offensive tackles.

The Running Game Must Stand Up

The biggest disappointment for the Las Vegas Raiders this season has been the rushing attack. They’re dead last running the football, and last week were stifled by the league’s worst run defense. It won’t get any easier this week given how good the Browns defense is. Myles Garrett will be leading the charge against the Las Vegas Raiders offensive line.

Several blockers have missed blocking assignments on zone runs. At the same time, Zamir White and Alexander Mattison have struggled to find the correct holes to break a run open. The running game needs to finally wake up, or they’re doomed. Keep in mind that after 55 rushing attempts, they’re averaging only 2.8 yards per carry.
