Marco Reus is all set to head towards the United States. He has agreed to join LA Galaxy and will soon make a move to the Western Conference (MLS) side. Reus was a free agent this summer which made him scout for various future options amongst which LA Galaxy occurred.

He had this very clear thing in his mind, that he had an ambition to play in the MLS after his time in Europe. It is being reported that the deal with LA Galaxy was bound to happen. The talks had already been sparking since June of 2024 and now is the time the deal becomes concrete.

All the players who have done a lot in Europe now start to think about their potential future in countries like the United States or Saudi Arabia. Many do it because of following the paths of greats like Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr) and Lionel Messi (Inter Miami CF).

Marco Reus has done a lot for his former club Borussia Dortmund. He has created a proper sense of loyalty towards the German giants. Throughout his twelve seasons at the club, he has been able to pull off some interesting statistics which are tough to be retained for any ordinary player that too for a single club.

Reus has made a total of 429 appearances for Borussia Dortmund and has scored 170 goals. He has also provided 131 assists during his time at the club across all competitions. The German international has captained the side for five years. He was at his peak under Jurgen Klopp when he joined the club in the 2012/2013 season.

Reus possesses a great attacking threat which is terrifying for the opponents’ defensive line. He has a great ability to run with the ball and dribble past many to find spaces and shoot. His play-making abilities are talked about in the world of this sport. He could prove to be a great addition to the Galaxy side as he brings in a lot of experience.

How is This a Wise Move

Marco Reus being 35-years-old has had a busy career while representing Dortmund. After these hard-worked twelve seasons at the club, he deserves an incredible farewell. It feels that now is the time for the younger generation to take over.

Marco Reus being in the Dortmund squad won’t get as much game time due to his fitness and understandably be a substitute to Brandt. However, the German international has different views and wants to continue to play full-time. He wants to be on the pitch for the whole game and justify his role. These reasons led him to a decision to leave the club as a free agent and sign an 18-month deal with a possible extension of a year for the Western Conference side LA Galaxy.
