The Brooklyn Nets didn’t have any rookies this year. However, the team’s youngsters helped to clinch their first 2K25 Summer League win against the Indiana Pacers. The Nets came back from a 15-point deficit to force an overtime play and won with a two-point margin (97-95). Jalen Wilson met fans’ expectations as he outperformed his teammates.

The Clippers’ 2024 second-round overall pick, Cam Christie, tried to find his footing in his summer league debut. The 18-year-old guard got eight points, three defensive rebounds, and two assists while making 25% of his field goals and three-point attempts. The Clippers guard could pick up against the Nets with the help of NBA-experienced players around him.
Jordan Miller was the best performer against the Denver Nuggets. He got 36 points while shooting 61% from the field (11-18), 60% from the three-point position (6-of-10), and 100% from the foul line. The 6’ 5 guard continues his improvement from the 2023-24 G League season. Kobe Brown on the other hand seconded as the team’s best performer as he got 13 points, three offensive rebounds out of four rebounds, and three assists. Further, Brown would’ve had a round game if he got some points from his seven three-point attempts.
Brooklyn Nets
After a competitive match, Jalen Wilson led his team to victory with 25 points and seven rebounds. The 23-year-old forward contributed to the team’s offense by making 47% of his field goal attempts (8-of-17) and 56% in three-point attempts (5-of-9). If Wilson maintains this performance he could lead the Nets to victory again.
Keon Johnson is on a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets. Though he couldn’t convert any of his three-point attempts, the 22-year-old guard’s performance added more depth to the team’s defense. Johnson got 16 points, five rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals. Also, the Nets guard went 58% in field goals made (7-of-12). Further, Johnson’s contributions on both sides of the court could make the team’s match against the Clippers more competitive.
Possible Breakout Players of the Game
Los Angeles Clippers
RayJ Dennis played 20 minutes off the bench to get five points, eight assists, seven rebounds, a steal, and a block. Though his numbers were average, he got a +25 in +/-. Thus, the 23-year-old guard has the potential to shine from the bench in this summer league exhibit. Also, Dennis played 164 games with three college basketball teams where he averaged 12 points, 3.8 boards, and 4.3 assists, shooting 47.2% in field goals.
Brooklyn Nets
Jaylen Martins is a player worth watching in this matchup against the Clippers. He came off the bench to play 24 minutes and maintained the team’s dominant performance over the Indiana Pacers. The two-way contract player couldn’t convert his threes but he got 12 points, five offensive rebounds of eight rebounds, and three steals to create chances for his teams to chase the rim. He could be the Net’s best 6th player.
