Kyle Nelson Confident He Will Knockout Steve Garcia in UFC Vegas 97

Kyle Nelson Confident to Knockout Steve Garcia

Kyle Nelson believes due to his training, strength, and technique that he’ll knock out his opponent Steve Garcia in UFC Vegas 97. Nelson has fought 22 fights and has only lost five of those fights with one draw. Garcia has also lost five fights in his whole MMA professional career, and he has been victorious 16 times. Nelson dominated Garcia in their only previous match. Nelson and Garcia did come face to face one time and that resulted in a clean knockout by Nelson. Also, one of their scheduled fights was canceled.

Biggest Fight of Kyle Nelson’s Career

Nelson was ready to dance the biggest fight of his career through UFC Vegas 97 where he was to fight Calvin Kattar, who is in the top 10 ranking of the featherweight division. However, about a month after the fight was set, there was news that Kattar was injured, and the fight was canceled. This was a disappointment for Nelson, as this was a good chance for him to climb into the top 10.

Nelson talked about the preparation he did for the upcoming UFC Vegas 97 in these words. “We spent a lot of time preparing for Calvin. Having an opportunity to jump into the top 10, top 15, like this was exciting, a little unexpected. When we got the call, I wasn’t expecting a top-15 guy. But, it felt great that the UFC was looking at me to jump into the rankings. I thought Calvin Kattar was a great matchup for me stylistically.”

Kyle Nelson Predicts a Knockout

Nelson feels he is underappreciated as a fighter, and he is not afraid of this. He believes he has better endurance, in grappling, striking, and wrestling, and he intends to maintain a fast pace which will prove to be very challenging for Garcia to break free from. Nelson has even predicted that he is going to knock out Garcia in the second round because he believes that Garcia will get too tired. Thus, Nelson predicts he will win by a TKO, for what will be his fourth win in a row.

Kyle Nelson showed his dominance by saying. “He comes on strong, a lot of his wins are early in the first round. He is fighting someone who is very durable, we are not going to see him put me away early. We will see him try to put me away and run into a shot. Jind of like Bill Algeo in my last fight. Or we are going to see him use up his gas in the first round and I finish him with a second-round TKO.”
