Kingsley Coman Wants to Leave Bayern Munich

Kingsley Coman is reportedly keen on leaving Bayern Munich this summer, with several clubs, including Arsenal, showing interest in the winger. The 28-year-old has been with Bayern for the past nine years, initially arriving on a two-year loan from Juventus before making the move permanent in 2017. During his time at the Allianz Arena, Kingsley Coman has made 296 appearances across all competitions, contributing 64 goals and 66 assists, and has amassed a total of 19 trophies, including eight Bundesliga titles.

Despite dealing with injury issues in the latter part of last season, Coman was featured in 21 of his 27 matches under former manager Thomas Tuchel. With Vincent Kompany now in charge, Bayern Munich has already brought in three new first-team players this summer, including a £50 million signing of winger Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.

Kingsley Coman still has three years remaining on his contract, but it’s speculated that securing a regular spot in the first team might be challenging this season, given the competition from Olise, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, and Mathys Tel. According to L’Equipe, Coman is ready to seek a new challenge during the peak years of his career, and he is expected to depart Bayern Munich before the summer transfer window closes. While his next destination is still uncertain, several English clubs are reportedly interested in him.

German news outlet Bild has reported that Kingsley Coman has a substantial offer from a Saudi Arabian side, but he seems to prefer remaining in Europe. Arsenal is among the clubs showing interest, with head coach Mikel Arteta considering adding a new winger to his squad.

Premier League Clubs’ Interest

Previously, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool have been linked with the French international, as have Barcelona from La Liga.  At the end of last year, Kingsley Coman hinted at a possible future move to the Premier League, stating: “I would say it is in the back of my head. What I love about football is the intensity of the game and the challenge. The Premier League is one of the leagues, if not the league, with the most challenges and intensity. It is a league I would like to play in one day but you don’t know what could happen in football.”

Kingsley Coman scored as a substitute in Bayern’s 4-0 victory over Ulm in the first round of the DFB-Pokal and also made a brief substitute appearance in their 3-2 win against Wolfsburg in the opening match of the new Bundesliga season. Various journalists are still claiming that anything can happen, Arsenal being the race leaders have the most chances to sign the Frenchman.
