Khamzat Chimaev is a Russian fighter with whom Arman is trying to collect fighters and fight the current Champion, Islam Makhachev. Arman Tsarukyan, a leading lightweight contender, will require a strong team of fighters and supporters to overcome the formidable Islam Makhachev. They have faced off once before, and with Tsarukyan dominating his opponents.
On the other hand, Makhachev will be moving to welterweight so people might be thinking that they both won’t be fighting Arman but the reality seems to be quite different from that. So although Makhachev is considering a move to welterweight, he is eager to defend his title one more time against his familiar opponent.
Collaborations to win title
Even though Arman is not willing to fight Islam, he has a problem to deal with that must be addressed before fighting Islam. Arman Tsarukyan is currently facing a suspension due to an incident that can cause his fan following to drop down and cause official problems. Unlike other fighters who are lovely towards fans, he punched a fan during his walk to the ring during his UFC 300 fight against Charles Oliveira. While serving his suspension, Tsarukyan plans to participate in a reality TV show. During the show, he will meet Chimaev and request his assistance in preparing for future fights.
During his suspension, Tsarukyan is joining a reality show, the newest season of Hype Reality, a reality TV show that is related to the Ultimate Fighter, hosted by Hype Fighting Championship in Russia. He and Chimaev will serve as coaches for the up-and-coming Russian fighters in the series. Arman has a different relationship with the Chechen fighter than Makhachev, as they are also big competitors for the championship, but the existence of Islam hits differently. Despite being competitors, Tsarukyan hopes to build a connection with Chimaev and collaborate with him to prepare for the biggest fight of his career.
Arman Tsarukyan’s Loss Against Makhachev
There are high chances for Arman to lose against Makhachev because they have already fought in 2019, and they might not fight this time, but there are chances for them to fight. That’s the reason for Islam vs. Arman Hipe. Although Tsarukyan has undoubtedly earned a chance to fight for the title, there’s a complication: he lost to Makhachev back in 2019. Makhachev, on the other hand, is not interested in fighting Tsarukyan because he has already proved himself and shown his dominance. Makhachev, meanwhile, is considering a possible match with welterweight champion Leon Edwards and isn’t very interested in facing his old rival again.
He also mentioned that a match with Edwards would be more significant for his ‘legacy’. “Who doesn’t want to be a double champion?” the lightweight champion added. “This is history. How many double champions do we have? This is a dream for all fighters—to get a second belt.”
The fighters as coaches
In contrast to The Ultimate Fighter, the coaches on Hype Reality will not compete against each other. Instead, Tsarukyan and Chimaev will be teaching the new fighters how to fight professionally as they are going to prepare for the upcoming matches, and they will face fighters of great skill, so, for that reason, they are going to train hard to compete well against them. Tsarukyan has a high interest in fighting for the title and being at the top. For this purpose, he wants to train with the Chechniyan and improve his skills.
Tsarukyan is now looking forward to training with Khamzat Chimaev. It would be helpful for him because Khamzat is Russian, especially since his next likely opponent is the Russian contender Islam Makhachev. He expressed his enthusiasm about this collaboration, noting their similar fighting styles, in an interview with Sports24.
