Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce is set to make history next week in New Orleans in Super Bowl LIX. He is tied with Rob Gronkowski and Marv Flemming for the most Super Bowl appearances for a tight end in league history with five apiece. Kelce has been spectacular in his previous Super Bowls.
He is second all-time with 31 Super Bowl catches and two catches behind Wide Receiver Jerry Rice for the most receptions in Super Bowl history. Kelce is poised to pass Rice in this year’s game. Kelce has 350 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns in the Super Bowl. Will the Kansas City Chiefs and the star tight leave Louisiana with a third straight championship?

Kansas City prepares for Super Bowl LIX looking to complete the first three-peat in the Super Bowl era. The best three-year run in NFL history began with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. These teams will get to play again next Sunday with another championship hanging in the balance. The Chiefs won a 38-35 thriller two years ago with Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading a 10-point second half comeback. Mahomes finished with three passing touchdowns and had the eighth-best passer rating in Super Bowl history.
Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts also played well but committed the Super Bowl’s lone turnover. That sullied a stellar performance which saw him throw for 304 yards and account for four total touchdowns. Hurts will have a much harder path to success in this year’s Super Bowl. Kansas City has had one of the best defenses in the National Football League during the regular season and postseason.
Final Thoughts
Kelce is one of the best playoff performers in league history, and his Super Bowl statistics follow that blueprint. He is second in postseason receiving yards, second in receiving touchdowns, and the all-time leader in postseason receptions. Kelce is arguably the best tight end in league history and will look to add to his illustrious playoff resume as the Kansas City Chiefs look to make history. There has been some speculation this could be Kelce’s last career game. There is no better to go out than pulling off something never done in the Super Bowl era.
