The Kansas City Chiefs Picked Lightning Fast WR at 28th in the NFL Draft

Chiefs 2024 Season Outlook

The reigning, defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, are not ones to rest on their laurels. A three-peat is on the horizon and for that, they need all the help and talent possible. That’s why they traded up three picks to select Xavier Worthy from  Texas at 28th overall in the first round.

Many would point out the Chiefs do not have that much talent, but they still went to win the Super Bowl two times in a row. With the addition of this WR, their stock should at least rise a bit as they look to enter a new phase of their dynasty. Can Xavier Worthy improve the Kansas City Chiefs’ chances?

Lightning Fast Speed is Back in Kansas City!

When the Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill, they lost the fastest weapon in the NFL. Now, they just selected the guy with the fastest time in the 40-yard dash of the NFL Combine. Xavier Worthy is a massive weapon for Patrick Mahomes.

Worthy ran a 4.21 in the combine. He has a Tank Dell feel to him but with a speed that can’t be controlled by defenses. The former Longhorn wideout will give the Kansas City Chiefs the deep threat they lacked the last two years, making them one of the most dangerous offenses in the league. This comes as a second reinforcement to the WR corp after they signed Marquise Brown in Free Agency.

Kansas City Chiefs 2024 NFL Draft Outlook

Xavier Worthy is a massive weapon for the Kansas City Chiefs

The offensive weaponry for the Kansas City Chiefs is flat-out dangerous now. Xavier Worthy will be the skillful, incredibly fast weapon. Brown will provide vertical routes outside the number. Travis Kelce is obviously Mahomes’ first option down the middle of the field and Rashee Rice is a versatile WR with good route running entering his second year.

The Chiefs now see their offense in a much different light than what they had last year. They still were champs, but now their chance to three-peat is even more serious when you consider it’s Andy Reid’s crazy offensive mind calling the plays.
