Jordie Benn has retired from Professional Hockey, Benn has played 17 seasons with 11 teams. He is the older brother of Dallas Stars Captain Jamie Benn, Jordie had 137 points 26 goals, and 111 assists in 607 regular season games.

It’s a weird feeling that training camp is not around the corner, but it’s been a really fun ride. I always felt a little nervous before every NHL game I played, but when my skates touched the ice for warmup I knew I was going to be okay, A lot of people thought I never should have made it, and maybe I shouldn’t have, but I just worked as hard as I could every night and tried to be the best teammate possible.
Jordie Benn went undrafted in 2008, Jordie rose the ranks in the Dallas Stars organization playing for the ECHL, AHL, and obviously the NHL affiliate the Dallas Stars. After the 2015-16 season, Jordie Benn was a free agent, he decided to stay with the Dallas Stars signing a three-year, $3.3 million contract on June 24, 2016. He was traded in the middle of the 2016-17 season to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Greg Pateryn and a 2017 fourth-round draft pick.
Jordie Benn signed as a free agent to a two-year, $4 million contract with the Vancouver Canucks, In the final year of his contract he was traded to the Winnipeg Jets for a 6th Round Pick.
Jordie Benn would sign with the Minnesota Wild and then the Toronto Maple Leafs in back-to-back seasons make the trip to Europe before announcing his retirement before the 2024-2025 NHL season kicked off in October.

Jamie and Jordie Benn Spoke about playing against each other for the first time in the NHL when Jordie Benn was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 2017. The player said, “It was tough to see him go, but it was fun to experience the NHL life while we had the time together. Now he can be Jordie Benn and not Jamie Benn’s brother. I think this is going to be great for him, and he can move on and move forward with his career. And I’m excited to see what happens with him. Jordie Benn had this to say about leaving Dallas for Montreal. It was a fun roller coaster in Dallas, but it’s a new adventure now.”
As Jordie is now retired Jamie Benn is still going strong as the Dallas Stars Captain, entering his age 35 season, Benn last year was still productive with 21 goals and 60 points in 82 regular season games.
