Green Bay Packers starting QB Jordan Love attended voluntary Offseason Team Activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, reinforcing his role on the team as a hard worker and a team leader. Love’s contract extension is still being negotiated, with he and his agent looking for a starting QB-worthy extension for 2025 and beyond.
Love signed an extension in 2023 that will have him “only” bringing in $11 million in the 2024 season. While this is still a big number, it’s well below the league average for starting QB’s in the NFL. 21 of the 32 starting quarterbacks in the league will make more than Jordan Love in 2024.
Jordan Love Brings Enthusiasm to OTAs

Love expressed his enthusiasm with being involved in the Green Bay Packers’ offseason activities to reporters following his workout on Tuesday:
“I mean that’s just something that I’ve always done — trying to be here, get the reps in, get the work in with the guys and just start building that chemistry and getting ready for the season,” Love said.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spoke about Jordan Love’s attendance at OTAs and what it means for the rest of the team’s near perfect attendance during OTAs this offseason:
“Oh, it’s everything to us,” LaFleur said. “Our attendance here, I know we had one guy missing today for a personal matter, but we’ve had almost 100% the entire offseason, which has been the best that we’ve had since I’ve been here.”
LaFleur went on to echo Jordan Love’s sentiments about the importance of building chemistry and trust with teammates, saying:
“I always think when you look around the league, when your quarterback’s there, it just naturally has a way of attracting everybody to come. We’re still a very young football team, as well, so these guys, they want to put in the work. We’ve got a lot of guys that love the game and love the process of grinding together and going through some tough things together. But to have him here, you can’t put a value on that.”
Jordan Love’s Future With the Green Bay Packers

With Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff signing a massive deal last week worth $212 million over four years, Jordan Love is definitely looking for a pay raise. Goff’s deal reset the bar for the upper-mid range of QBs, not counting superstar mega-deals like Joe Burrow’s $62 million-a-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Love played on a mini-extension of his rookie contract in 2023, with the Packers choosing an extension over exercising the fifth-year option of Love’s rookie contract. This yielded Love a $9 million signing bonus, upping his average pay to $13.5 million a year. With his rookie contract over, Jordan love is prepared to hold out in order to get the deal he wants.
With plenty of cap room available after releasing Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers should step up and give Jordan Love a contract worthy of his playing ability. He took the Green Bay Packers a lot farther last year than anyone expected, and the sooner the Packers act, the better. As the offseason progresses and other QB deals get signed, the Packers can only expect Jordan Love’s price tag to get bigger.
