Johni Broome Lifts Auburn Tigers To Final Four

Johni Broome

March Madness delivered again. Auburn Forward Johni Broome turned in a performance for the ages against Michigan State on Sunday leading the Tigers to a gritty 70–64 win and punching their ticket to the Final Four. In a game full of drama, momentum swings, and a scary injury, Broome came through when it mattered most, putting the team on his back with dominance, toughness, and poise.

Fast Start From Johni Broome

Auburn needed energy early, and Broome delivered. After a slow opening few minutes, the Tigers exploded on a 17–0 run with Broome anchoring both ends of the floor. He cleaned up the glass, finished tough looks inside, and even stepped out to knock down a three. His presence helped Auburn flip the momentum and take control in the first half.

Injury? No Problem?

With just over ten minutes left, disaster struck. Broome landed awkwardly on his right arm after contesting a shot. He walked straight to the locker room. Auburn fans held their breath, but he wasn’t done yet. Five minutes later, Broome returned to the court and immediately hit a clutch three-pointer. His toughness lit a fire under Auburn as they fended off a late Michigan State push.

Eyes On the Prize

This win sends Auburn to just its second Final Four in program history. Up next is a high-stakes matchup with SEC rival Florida. If Broome continues playing at this level, the Tigers could be heading even deeper. His performance against Michigan State will go down as one of the defining moments of this year’s tournament.
