John O’Shea believes he is worthy to be the next Ireland permanent boss. He said, “ I am ready and capable of being Ireland’s manager.” During his previous match as the interim boss, Ireland lost 1-0 to Switzerland. That was after former Liverpool ace Xherdan Shaqiri scored from the free kick.
During the upcoming FAI board meeting, Jonathan Hill’s future will be discussed. He is the chief executive and therefore that discussion means a lot. Additionally, the appointment of a new manager will also be a priority on the list of the agenda. The association is also committed to making an official announcement about the new manager in April.
Is Roberto Di Matteo a Contender?
There have been rumors that Roberto Di Matteo is a contender in the managerial race. However, FAI sources insisted that he is not one of the contenders even after being seen by Jonathan Hill on the night of the match in Dublin.
What Makes John O’Shea so Confident?
The reality is that John O’Shea wants to be considered for the role and even added” I think that it is something that would be subject to discussion later on.”
“For me, full concentration and objective were the two games. I mainly wanted to learn and also have an understanding of them. Moreover, I also needed to learn about myself and see if I wanted to do more. When asked about being a manager in the next role rather than a coach, he answered “Look, the genuine answer from me would be, yes. But let’s wait and see where that is.”
“My instincts tell me that I am more than ready to be an Ireland manager.” He said. Speaking on the same issue, he said that for now it’s a wait-and-see moment and could only speak of how he and the staff have enjoyed working with the players. But will he be a long-term solution for the team?
“These two games have only given me a taste for more. Whether it’s the Ireland or club football.”He continued.
He said how he enjoyed the two games and was fully into them. It was only unfortunate that the team didn’t secure a win in the Switzerland game.

What Happened on Tuesday?
John O’Shea cried foul on Tuesday. He said that the Ireland Defender, Dara O’Shea never touched his teammate from Burnley, Zeki Amdouni. However, Shaqiri settled the game with a free quick from the edge of the area.
The Ireland caretaker claimed that Dara only pulled his leg away but didn’t make contact. “It’s quite frustrating but sometimes you have to let it go because the Switzerland side was dominating the game at that time.” He added.
