It was a little surprising that he fell so far in the draft, but this is likely because of the poor history of Ohio State running backs in the NFL.
Dobbins has overperformed expectations in the National Football League. In five seasons in the NFL thus far, he has rushed for 1,613 yards on 216 carries. He has scored 14 touchdowns as a professional. He did not play football in 2021 due to an injury. He tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the final preseason game of the season and then missed the entire season. He has played for the Baltimore Ravens, who drafted him, and the Los Angeles Chargers just this season.
The average career for a running back in the National Football League is less than four seasons, but Dobbins seems healthy this season in Los Angeles. He is the feature running back and is being used quite a bit. It is funny that his current head coach is Jim Harbaugh.
