The Champion Trophy is going to be held in three cities of Pakistan: Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. As per the tentative schedule, all of India’s matches were to be held in Lahore. With the Champion Trophy around the corner, the eyes of the PCB have been getting their arguments in their favor through hectic preparation for a major upgrade of the stadiums in these cities. In the renovation of three main stadiums, the board has already included in their budget Rs 12.80 billion for the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium. This renovation is in place to meet the prime conditions of the venue for the T20 Global Cup.
Participation of Other Teams
What is noteworthy is that all the other teams that are going to play in the Champions Trophy have already played cricket in Pakistan. The PCB reckons that this should obviate any major concerns on India’s part about security or other conditions in the country. Be that as it may, a final decision shall succinctly rest on a myriad of factors, including government approval.
This will be the first since the 2017 edition, which was held in England; the event will be unforgettable, with the astonishing victory by Pakistan over India in that final, which still largely remains a pinpoint in the history of this tournament.
