Jason Kidd Praises Dallas Mavericks’ Big Three

Jason Kidd and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks

Jason Kidd recently praised the Dallas Mavericks’ “Big Three” after the Mavericks’ 119-99 blowout win over the Chicago Bulls at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night. Both the Mavericks and Bulls were short-handed entering the non-conference game, but the Mavericks came out on top. The injury-plagued Mavericks and Bulls appear to find their respective ways, which is perfectly normal. No NBA team is perfect. This statement applies to the Mavericks, the defending Western Conference Champions. Read on for Kidd’s recent praise for the Mavericks, including the Mavericks’ road ahead.

 Praise

Kidd recently praised the Dallas Mavericks, which could help the Mavericks in the short and long run. The Mavericks have been preparing for Friday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns. The Mavericks’ recent wins have helped them succeed despite all the injuries.

After the Mavericks vs. Chicago Bulls game, Dallas’ “Big Three” led the attack, as Luka Doncic delivered an all-around good performance with 27 points, seven (defensive) rebounds, 13 steals, and four steals. Kyrie Irving followed with 17 points, six (defensive) rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Klay Thompson rounded out the trio with 13 points and six rebounds. The Mavericks’ “Big Three” has been off to a good start so far in the 2024-25 NBA season. So Kidd’s recent praise should help all three NBA players stay on the right track.

Jason Kidd Acknowledges

After the Dallas Mavericks vs. Chicago Bulls game, Kidd acknowledged the impact of the Mavericks’ stars, including Klay Thompson’s integration. Kidd told the media, “We have two of the best iso (isolation) players in the league, in the world, so it’s easy to lean in and go to that right off the bat … But to get other guys involved, I thought the group made a conscious effort for Klay (Thompson) to touch the ball since you guys asked that question, that important question of can Klay get shots and Luka (Doncic) not, so we listened to the media. You guys really helped out.”

Aside from Doncic, Thompson, and Kyrie Irving, Daniel Gafford — the current starting center for the Mavericks — stepped up amidst the absences of fellow center Dereck Lively II and then power forward PJ Washington. Gafford’s most recent performance was his best of the season, with 17 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.

In addition, small forward Naji Marshall made his Mavericks debut and contributed eight points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the Mavericks’ win over the Bulls.

Jason Kidd Believes

Kidd reportedly believes in the Dallas Mavericks, just like the Mavericks believe Kidd is the perfect coach for the team’s personalities.

During the Mavericks vs. Chicago Bulls game, their’ bench collectively contributed 37 points, 19 rebounds, and 14 assists. shooting guard Jaden Hardy led the bench with 11 points, while fellow shooting guard Quentin Grimes and center Dwight Powell combined for 11 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one block.

The Mavericks’ bench provided critical support to the team’s starting lineup. In addition, Dallas recorded a season-high 33 assists during their stampede of the Bulls. Dallas’ great start from the get-go led to additional shots while finding open players on the court.
