Jason Holder’s Exciting Return: West Indies Squad to Face England 2024

Jason Holder

Jason Holder stated he would be available after playing a bit in the UAE leagues. There is also the inclusion of the young fast bowler Jayden Seales who remained injured and performed well with bat and bowl in the County Championship. West Indies cricket team prepares for three test cricket series in England, the first test of which is to commence from July 10th. This series might be a historic event if, veteran seamer, James Anderson plays his last international game for England. The West Indies has a strong squad this year teaming up with the former captain. [Holder]

There are no major surprises to the Sussex side and Shamar Joseph, who played a terrific knock in the second Test against Australia, stays with the team. Strangely excluded is a productive batsman of Shai Hope who perused mightily well in the West Indies 2017 test series against England. A newcomer, Mikyle Louis comes into the team’s picture and strengthens the West Indies by being part of the batting squad.

Former captain Jason Holder was selected among players for the West Indies team that will be visiting England. He announced that he would be always available for the Test side after being dropped from Australian cricket. Rather, he signed up for a cricket league in the United Arab Emirates. He had an injury and therefore did not feature in the T20 World Cup but should be fine for the T20 Cup. West Indies will be slated for three Test matches against England, with the first one scheduled to take place on the earliest of 10th July at the Lord’s. Additionally, the match will mark England bowler James Anderson’s final international performance.

Fast bowler, Jayden Seales returns to the West Indies set-up after being excluded due to injury during the Australia series. It has been a good season for Seales while representing Sussex in the County Championship this season. In the first five matches, he scored 171 runs and took 24 wickets in six matches which placed him as the leading wicket-taker of Division Two.

Another fast bowler is Shamar Joseph; he played a second Test in Brisbane, and his side beat Australia. However, the wrecking batter Shai Hope is missing. He made hundreds in both innings when West Indies won a Test series at England in 2017 but has not featured in a Test for four years.

These are newcomers, and now the newest addition to the batters is the player named Mikyle Louis.

West Indies team:

KT Brathwaite (captain), A Athanaze, J Da Silva, JD Holder, KA Hodge, TL Imlach, AO Joseph, SS Joseph, MP Louis, ZJ McCaskie, KC McKenzie, G Motie, KR Mayers, JN Seales, KMA Sinclair, Holder
