Pakistan’s Test coach Jason Gillespie has highlighted a lot of issues, one of which is the workload issue when it comes to the team’s pacers, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah. Discussing this issue with a group of about ten journalists in Karachi, the former Australian Test bowler was very harmonic.

Gillespie, who recently took up the responsibility of Pakistan’s Test team head coach, is yet to commence his series against Bangladesh. He was impressed by how much pressure there is on Shaheen and Naseem to perform in all formats and play franchise cricket as well.

While addressing the media, the former Australian bowler had a lot of say about his pacers. He said:

Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shahare the multi-format players who also play franchise cricket, and thus, they can not play every match. We will try to rest them in the least significant encounters. While Mitchell Starc, over the past year, has bowled three times more than Shaheen, how could he manage it? We have to look out for them. ”

Jason Gillespie also discussed the need to open a camp on August 6 for the preparation of the Bangladesh series and the probable release of the squad for the series by the end of that month. The coach further added:

We will also look at the workload of the batters. The plan is to have an alternative to waiting. Shan Masood will lead the Test squad. He has a count with a county side in England at the moment. Though we have not spoken physically, we remain in touch over the telephone.

Recently, during the Lahore visit, Jason Gillespie spoke to Babar Azam and Naseem Shah, and he assured Babar to go for the natural game. He stated:

In Lahore, I could speak to Babar Azam and Naseem Shah, and I told Babar to play the way he wanted to play without any fear.
