Israel Adesanya Defends Francis Ngannou

Isreal Adesanya Defends Francis Ngannou

Israel Adesanya will fight one of the greatest fighters in his division, Dricus Du Plessis, in UFC 305. Du Plessis is the UFC middleweight Champion, who should give Adesanya a good battle. Dricus Du would be a very tough opponent for Adesanya because he is a seasoned fighter. Dricus Du has fought 23 fights and lost only two of them, while Israel has fought 27 fights and lost three of them.

Former Heavyweight Champion Francis “The Predator” Ngannou has been away from the UFC for years and now wants to return. Adesanya is supporting Ngannou’s return because UFC has reservations about Ngannou due to his commitments to other fighting sites.

Israel Adesanya Knows Business

Israel Adesanya Business

Adesanya made it clear to everyone that he knows that UFC is a business. But there are things that UFC cannot ignore, and he thinks it’s wrong to ignore Francis Ngannou and his impact on the sport. Before UFC 305, a promo video came out featuring Adesanya talking about the three African champions who once led the sport.

Adesanya has a history with the other African Champions. Back then, Adesanya was with Ngannou, the heavyweight champ, and Kamaru Usman, the welterweight champ. The “three kings” had big plans to grow the sport even more in Africa.

But the Champions didn’t know about the UFC’s upcoming decisions. The edited promo released by the UFC strangely left out Ngannou’s name, even though Adesanya had mentioned him at the pre-fight press conference. This upset the former middleweight champion, but he hopes the UFC will eventually realize its mistake.

“I know he’s fighting for the PFL right now, but it’s still history. You can’t just turn a blind eye to it. I’m sure they’ll fix it eventually. This is how business goes with the UFC.”

Contracts of “The Predator”

There was a lot of tension between UFC and Ngannou. The split between UFC and Ngannou seemed inevitable after “The Predator” raised several concerns about his contract. He wanted it fixed before signing a new deal with UFC. Ngannou’s issues weren’t just about salary; he also wanted the freedom to chase other interests, like his long-time dream of boxing, which he could only pursue after leaving the UFC.

He eventually joined PFL but was given the chance to fight Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in boxing matches. This was before his first fight with PFL against Renan Ferreira on October 19. Adesanya gets that the UFC sees Ngannou and PFL as rivals, but that doesn’t change their history together.

“He’s an integral part of what we’ve done in the UFC. Right now, I know there’s competition between other promotions and the UFC and battles, but you can never erase history. The streets, the internet will always remember.”
