Isaiah Bond Turns Himself In On Shocking Warrant On April 10

Bond

Isaiah Bond, a promising wide receiver from the University of Texas and projected mid-round pick in the NFL Draft, turned himself into the police in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday morning. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of sexual assault. He was later released after posting a bond of $25,000. The case stems from an incident on February 4.

Accusations Against Bond

According to an affidavit filed by police, Bond met the woman on Instagram, and the two eventually met in person. What started as a consensual encounter reportedly escalated when Bond crossed a boundary the woman had previously expressed discomfort with. She said she asked him to stop and pushed him away, but claims he continued.

After the encounter, the woman told police that Bond asked her to sign a non-disclosure agreement and later offered her money, which she declined. Her identity was not released by police. The police have not released any more information, and no charges beyond the initial sexual assault allegations have been filed.

Bond issued a statement on Instagram after he turned himself in. “Regarding the accusation against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the made, patently false,” he wrote. “I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation.”

Upcoming NFL Draft

The timing of the arrest could not be more critical. The NFL Draft is just weeks away, and Bond was considered a strong prospect due to his elite speed and versatility. After transferring to Texas from Alabama, he made a notable impact in the 2024 season catching 34 passes for 540 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also rushed for 98 yards and had a rushing touchdown. Across his college career, Bond totaled 1,428 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns.

At the NFL combine, he clocked a 4.39-second 40-yard dash, which he later improved to 4.34 seconds at his Pro Day, numbers that had his scouts paying close attention. Several teams, including the Packers, Bills, Chiefs, and Titans reportedly held meetings or private workouts with him before the draft.

Throughout his college career, Bond had 1,529 yards from scrimmage. His breakout year was at Alabama in 2024, where he had 668 receiving yards before transferring to Texas for his final year. He has the speed to stretch the field, making him a consistent threat in the passing game.

Now, Everything Is In Question

While Bond maintains his innocence, and the case is still in the early stages, NFL teams will have to weigh the serious nature of the accusation as they make their final decisions about their draft boards. For a player who was once expected to be taken in the second or third round, this development could cause his stock to slide or worse.

No trial date has been set and the legal process is beginning. Whether Bond’s name will be called in Green Bay later this month remains to be seen. One thing is clear. This moment, which should have been the biggest in his career, is now shadowed by a legal battle that could define his future on the field and off.
