Wrestling duos Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J, known as Insane Clown Posse (ICP), have found their place in the given sphere. ICP appeared in the 1990s, and it continues to be influential today, proving both the music and wrestling platforms. Current talks have triggered continuing debate over whether they should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame or not, as these athletes have hugely contributed to wrestling.
The career of the Insane Clown Posse started in the early days of the FMW era, which was from the 1990s/Executable Period to the hardcore times that followed. Their transition from music to wrestling was characterized by their personalities and sense of theatrics, which fit the spectacle that is professional wrestling. Insane Clown Posse became popular during WWE’s attitude era, which was known for its outrageous content. Both of them brought a touch of uncontrollability and fun, which is something that the fans like.
However, ICP was not done with wrestling yet and set its sights on WWE after that. He went to ECW, followed that up with WCW, and introduced their style to different promotions. This was mainly poignant during their time on WCW’s Nitro, where they brought a rather flamboyant feel to the program. While the duo was never the brainchild of Eric Bischoff, in the same respect, they made a strong impression on the vision of WCW fans.

The debate to place the Insane Clown Posse in the WWE Hall of Fame came into the limelight when one of the industry’s stakeholders, Eric Bischoff, came to the defense of the Insane Clown Posse. On his show, the Wise Choices podcast, Bischoff postulated that ICP has a place in wrestling and thus should be acknowledged. He proposed to begin the process of compiling a petition to bring the Insane Clown Posse into the WWE Hall of Fame, keeping in mind although it is difficult to perform, the star has a lot of fan following. Bischoff said:
I propose… that we ought to petition”I propose… that we ought to petition—we want Insane Clown Posse in the WWE Hall of Fame. This is not a process that is going to take weeks or even days, but it can build steam because they’ve still got a phenomenal fan base today. ”
Bischoff congratulated Insane Clown Posse for the weird and aggressive direction that the group gave to WCW’s Nitro. He also stated this in his conversation:
They are quite insane. That’s the best part of them, actually; they weren’t my boys. I didn’t manage them in WCW. I didn’t write for them. Neither did I produce them; Kevin Sullivan and his creative team handled them. But I enjoyed them; I really appreciated what they did for us and added something that we otherwise would not have had something goofy, something chic, something offbeat.
Beyond Major Promotions: Insane Clown Posse’s Broader Impact
What Insane Clown Posse did to wrestling was not only limited to their periods with WWE and WCW; they brought it to a whole new level. They also appeared on TNA and proved the two beautiful women were able to entertain fans of different wrestling promotions. Moreover, they created the promotion Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW) for independent wrestlers, thus building a hardcore wrestling fan base identified by the name Juggalos.
The annual music festival known as the Gathering of the Juggalos has turned out to be a main staple of Insane Clown Posse music as well as the wrestling calendar. The event comprises independent wrestling shows that wrestlers and enthusiasts prefer from different parts of America. This show of support seeks to identify with the wrestling community as well as be instrumental in the advancement of wrestling at its nascent levels.
