Indiana Pacers in Big Trouble With All-Star Out Game 3

Indiana Pacers Tyrese Haliburton

The Indiana Pacers will play the Boston Celtics at home tonight. They’re desperate for a win as they’re currently down in the series 0-2. In both games so far, the Pacers have had a chance to take the lead and secure a win, but they were unable to.

Tonight, game three will be played in Indiana, but it will be without their star player Tyrese Haliburton. Will this have a major effect on the Pacers’ chances to get a win?

With two games down, Hali has been struggling against this Celtics defense. He’s leading the team in assists with 8.2 per game and steals with 1.3 per game. However, he is only averaging 18.7 points per game. It seems like there have been a few games where he just isn’t in playoff form. This will not be enough to get Indiana the win against the top team on the table.

During the regular season Haliburton was averaging 20.1 points per game. This average had been up before his injury earlier in the year. On January 8th against Boston, Hali injured his hamstring and it shifted his stats heavily. His three-point shooting plummeted and the team only stayed afloat thanks to Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner

Can The Indiana Pacers Win Without Haliburton

In game two, Tyrese Haliburton reinjured his hamstring and it has been announced that he will not be able to play in game three. This will be a big loss for the Indiana Pacers. However, they might be able to secure a win still.

As previously stated the guard hasn’t been contributing as much as he normally does in points. It’s been on Pascal Siakam to try and lead this team to a win. If Siakam and Turner can both pull out big games at home they could tie the series and make things interesting. Furthermore, Boston might be without top defender Jrue Holiday giving the Indiana Pacers their best chance for a home win.
