Team India Gets Stronger with Virat Kohli’s Arrival

After some time off from the leading board of control for cricket in India (BCCI), Virat Kohli will rejoin his colleagues for the T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up game against Bangladesh.

Virat Kohli Joins Team India for T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli didn’t fly with the principal group of Indian players to the United States, choosing instead to spend more time with his family before his T20 World Cup. As Kohli looked for a break, questions arose over his availability for the warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1. Yet, it has now been confirmed that he will be prepared for the training game.

“He will arrive in New York before the warm-up versus Bangladesh on June 1. Regardless of whether he plays in the warm-up, it will be the executives’ call—whether they feel there is a sufficient time between his landing and the warm-up installation”.

A group including Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Gasp, and others has previously arrived in New York. The second bunch of players left on Monday morning, while a couple of others, like Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, will join the crew soon.

India’s T20 World Cup starts on June 5 against Ireland at the recently built Nassau District Global Cricket Stadium in New York. India versus Pakistan conflict will occur on June 9. They will later play competitions with the USA (June 12) and Canada (June 15) to wrap up their Gathering A matches.

Team India Welcomes Virat Kohli’s Return

In the competition, India plans on ending their ICC prize dry season, having last won the ICC Champions Prize in 2013. Since then, they have not won a major ICC prize.

India will bring home their very first T20 World Cup since they won the debut release of the competition back in 2007 in South Africa. In the last version held in Australia in 2022, India lost to England by 10 wickets in the elimination rounds. Virat Kohli’s return is welcome news for Team India as they prepare for their match against Bangladesh,
