India Announces Explosive Squad for Second Test Against Bangladesh

India Unveils Squad for Second Test Against Bangladesh

Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Men’s Selection Committee has revealed India’s team for the second Test match between IND and BAN. The team has not undergone any change. On September 27, the second Test between India and Bangladesh is set to begin in Kanpur. Although fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was rumored to be rested for the second Test, he will still be a member of the squad.

KL Rahul’s poor showing in the series opener in Chennai raised speculation that he would be left out of the Indian squad for the IND vs. BAN Kanpur Test. The team administration has chosen to give him another opportunity. Still, Sarfaraz Khan might be picked ahead of Rahul for a berth in the playing XI because of his outstanding form.

India’s Recent Commanding Win

After failing in the first innings of the Chennai Test with just 16 runs scored, there have been rumors that KL Rahul may be replaced in the team. The news was made just before midday on day 4 (September 22) of the first Test in Chennai, where IND won by 280 runs. India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, had stated before the first Test matchup with Bangladesh that they would go in the same manner as they had during the Test series against England earlier in the year.

On the fourth day of the first Test, India thumped Bangladesh by a significant margin to grab a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. India’s spin tandem of Ashwin and Jadeja dominated Bangladesh’s batting order in the opening Test, winning handily by 280 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. Ashwin, who was declared the Player of the Match, had an outstanding all-around effort on his ground. He took six wickets for 88 runs in addition to a century.

On the last day, Bangladesh resumed at 158/4 and put up a fight right away, with captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (82) and Shakib Al Hasan adding 36 runs in the first hour without losing a wicket. But Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj bowled tight and maintained BCCI in charge. Bangladesh finished at 222/8 after Ravindra Jadeja eventually ended the partnership by removing Shanto.

At that time, Shanto was top-edged a cut ball to Bumrah at extra cover. After that, Ashwin collected his seventh five-wicket haul in a Test match, matching the records held by Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan, with only Rangana Herath having more than twelve. After claiming his sixth wicket, Ashwin eliminated Taskin Ahmed to end the innings.

India’s victory was sealed, and they now lead the two-match series 1-0 thanks to a clean bowl from Ravindra Jadeja, who provided the final touch. The BCCI team for the second test consists of the following players: R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohd. Siraj, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, Yash Dayal, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, and Yash Dayal.
