In ACC, Pakistan’s Impressive Win Against Nepal

Pakistan, ACC
An opening win was a necessity for Pakistan in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup, and the girls in green did it emphatically as they beat Nepal by nine wickets at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. After winning the toss, the Pakistan captain made quite a call to bowl first.
Nepal batters could not stand against the disciplined bowling and sharp fielding of Pakistan, which sent them all out for a modest 109 runs. The response of Pakistan was simply clinical when it came down to chasing the target; the ease with which they did it was incredible. They scored 110 in just 11.5 overs, with 49 balls to spare. This performance not only underlined the batting prowess of Pakistan but also underlined the dominance of the Pakistanis in every department.

Pakistan’s Brilliant Performance Secures a Win Against Nepal

The star of the show was Gull Feroza, who scored her half-century in T20 internationals. Opening the batting with Muneeba Ali, she put on an interesting display of aggressive yet controlled batting. Gull’s reaching her half-century in just 30 balls. Her 57-run knock, including ten well-timed boundaries, kept the scoreboard ticking and put immense pressure on the Nepalese bowlers.
Muneeba Ali provided sterling support to the partner. She batted with a lot of composure and determination and remained unbeaten on 46 runs off 34 balls with eight fours. Together, they developed a high-quality partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket, which virtually sealed the game in Pakistan’s favor. It was an amalgamation of aggression and smart cricket that ensured Pakistan never fell behind in the match.
Pakistan’s victory was built on the back of its bowling unit and sharp fielding. Nepal failed to face the disciplined bowlers of the Pakistani side. Sadia Iqbal was outstanding, as she took 2 wickets for 19 runs in her four-over spell. She bowled tight lines, because of which the Nepali batters found it hard to score against her, along with some movement. She was well supported by Fatima Sana, who bowled a tight spell and picked one wicket for 24 runs. The fielders also contributed with three vital run-outs that further choked Nepal’s innings.

Pakistan’s Victory Builds Momentum for Upcoming Matches

Despite a resilient effort from Sita Rana Magar, who scored 26 runs, and Kabita Joshi, who remained unbeaten on 31, Nepal could only reach a total of 108 for six in their 20 overs. A late partnership of 34 runs for the sixth wicket between Puja Mahato and Joshi, who struck 25 each, helped Nepal post a somewhat respectable total. However, it was never going to be enough against a determined Pakistani side.
The next game for Pakistan will be against UAE on July 23 in Dambulla, for which they would want to take advantage of this momentum. This victory sends a very strong message to the opponents and fans of Pakistan that they are here to play firmly in this tournament. It showed depth and quality in performance, challenging any team, which, if played with further skill and confidence, would make them one of the more feared sides in this competition.
This was an all-powerful performance by Pakistan, both with the bat and ball, truly exposing their difference in strength and preparedness midway through the competition. Their next challenge will come from UAE, whom they will find difficult to beat if they play the same stuff again. This win will not only boost their morale but also provide a blueprint of how they can approach things in the upcoming matches, making them a team to watch out for in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup.
