The Dutchman had sustained a serious injury in April during an El Classico clash against Real Madrid. The Injury made him miss out on the Euros. However, during the period, there were signs of early return, as he was expected to feature in the Euros at first. However, he experienced a major setback, leading to a prolonged state of injury. It was claimed that De Jong refused to operate to help speed up the process. And a few weeks back Hansi Flick was a bit unsure when the Dutchman would return. But in the light of events lately, Hansi Flick seemed to be happy about his progress and he believes the Dutchman will return very soon.

Flick will be anticipating De Jong’s return alongside Gavi and Olmo. With a player of De Jong’s quality, he’ll overall enhance the gameplay and dominance of the Catalans. With the Spanish Giants already in hot form, a fully fit De Jong in the team will make them extremely formidable.

Hansi Flick on De Jong

The German was very positive concerning the latest update on De Jong’s fitness. He also spoke above Gavi who has been out since last season over the issue of his ACL.

Flick said: “I’ve liked what I’ve seen in training. Gavi is also recovering well, he’s in a good moment. In Frenkie’s case, he’s close to being ready to help us. It’s good to watch him. I believe [Saturday] will be an off-day for him. He’s trained really hard and he needs time to recover. He can help me even if he plays 20 minutes, but we have to see how he evolves. We’ll see next week.”

Flick on Resting Yamal

The German has spoken well of Lamine Yamal and he believes the Spanish Youngster is very fit and able to take the responsibility ahead of him.

Flick said: “We have all the data from the players and at the moment it’s not like that, that he needs a rest, At the moment, everything is fine. He feels good. I don’t think that he needs a rest. It’s also important playing at home to start well with a great team. And what Lamine Yamal is doing this season is unbelievable. The quality has nothing to say about the age; at his age he is really unbelievable, doing great things. Is he the best [in the world]? I think he could be the best player in the future, 100%.”
