Hansi Flick Make Big Claim Ahead of Monaco Clash

Hansi Flick commented ahead of Barcelona’s Champions League clash against Monaco. The Blaugrana has been on a red hot form this season, having won all their games this season in their La Liga campaign. Their last fixture was against their fellow Catalan neighbors Girona, wherein they won 4-1 away. So far Barcelona has been rejuvenated under the German manager. Ahead of them is a tricky game in the Champions League. Hansi Flick’s side will travel to France to play Monaco.

The German coach believes his team is capable of pulling off a great result despite the increasing number of injury crises they are facing. Flick also made a bold statement believing his team is capable of winning the Champions League.

The German analyzed Barcelona’s clash against Monaco. He believes the game won’t be an easy tie, however, he claims he is very familiar with the opponents and his team will try to create chances and options against them. Flick remarked about how good Monaco is defensively and hinted about the work his team will have to do to break their defensive line.

He said: “I know the Monaco coach very well, and they are doing a very good job. They work very well defensively, and we have to focus on this aspect. We have to go with confidence and create spaces.”

Flick also praised his team and mentioned the possibility of Barca winning the Champions League. He said: “I think we can win the Champions League. We play at a very good level, and we have to be ready to play against the best.”

Hansi Flick on Fitness and Injuries

The German also spoke about the injuries plaguing the team. He believes that Ansu Fati is ready to play, however, the likes of De Jong and Gavi are presently doing light training. He claimed that they are trying to be careful with both of them.

Flick added: “Ansu is ready to play. When he’s on the pitch, he enjoys himself and is scoring goals in training. In recent days, we have been gradually working with the players coming back from injury. It’s important that they rejoin slowly and with the proper workload. Gavi is also training, doing rondos like Frenkie de Jong, and we have to be careful with his recovery.”

He also spoke about Fermin Lopez, blaming himself for the youngster’s injury, he said: “It’s a shame about Fermín because he played in two tournaments, and I have to say I feel a bit guilty because we could have spoken with the U-21 coach. He’s a very professional player, and the news yesterday wasn’t good.”

What’s Ahead for Barcelona

Barcelona will face the Monaco challenge in the Champions League. Hansi Flick will be very hopeful that his side can continue their red-hot form in La Liga at the Champions League. Although it’s expected that the game will not be easy for the Blaugranas. Flick also made it clear that Monaco is a very disciplined side and his team will have a lot of work to do when it’s time to break the defense.
