Hansi Flick Happy with Barcelona’s Sensational Display against Girona

Hansi Flick

Hansi Flick was very happy with his team’s performance after their big win against Girona. Barcelona extended their winning run against Girona, by defeating their fellow Catalan side 4-1. Goals from Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, and Pedri secured the demolition of their Catalonia neighbors.

Before the game, the Blaugrana have always struggled against Girona. Last season they saw themselves falling twice against Girona. They lost 4-2, both in the first and 2nd leg under Xavi. However, with Hansi Flick under control, it has been different. So far Barca has beaten teams, they’ve always struggled to face in the previous times.

Hansi Flick was highly pleased and will be hoping to continue the blitzing form in the Champions League.

The German praised his team strongly after the performance. It was obvious in the German’s demeanor that he was happy with the team. He called Yamal‘s first goal very incredible. Nonetheless, he didn’t downplay Girona’s effort in the game. Hansi Flick’s game was tough, but he complimented his team’s concentration and focus level. He pointed out that if Girona was given too much room it’ll lead to serious issues to be dealt with.

Flick said: “The season has just started. We played very well, focused, and concentrated… we knew that if we gave them space we could combine, We pressed very well. The first goal was incredible. Very beautiful. We deserved the victory. It was a tough game. Girona plays very well. But we started very well and I think we deserved the victory.

Hansi Flick Brief Analysis

The Former Bayern Coach continued his analysis. He had pointed out how they exploited the spaces left by the Girona team. The German continued to explain how Olmo scored his goal. In the end, even the team was pleased as it was seen that Pedri came to hug the coach after scoring his goal.

Hansi Flick added: “At half-time, I told them that they had to run into space and that’s how Olmo’s goal came about, I’m very happy with the team and the way they play and train. Pedri came to hug me after scoring his goal because before the match I told him that he was going to score today.”

What’s Ahead for Barca

The Catalans will face their next challenge in the Champions League, as they face Monaco away. Barcelona will travel to France on Thursday to start their Champions League campaign. Hansi Flick will hope his side can transfer their red-hot form in La Liga into the Champions League. A continuous win for the Catalans will keep invigorating their already hot form. Barca will go into the game without Dani Olmo, due to a minor injury. This will serve as a minor setback for them, but Flick will hope his side can find the rhythm without the Spaniard till he is back.
