Green Bay Packers vs. Baltimore Ravens Preseason Finale Preview

The Green Bay Packers will play their final preseason game today against the Baltimore Ravens. Head coach Matt Lafleur only allowed his starters to play some of the first preseason game a few weeks ago. They will remain on the sidelines against the Ravens today.

The Packers will have to play much better on the offensive side of the ball. Their second preseason game was not played at their full potential. Along with veteran experience and leadership, Green Bay should be in a good position to go a long way in the 2024 season. Here is a preview of the Green Bay Packers final preseason game today at Lambeau Field.

Green Bay Packers Offense

Green Bay will have to establish a chemistry on offense in their final preseason game. Backup quarterback Sean Clifford primarily took all of the snaps until the final quarter last week against the Denver Broncos. So far, the second-string quarterback has gone 16-29 for 154 yards and has thrown one interception with no touchdowns.

Clifford was not able to connect with his wide receivers a week ago. The Denver Broncos applied pressure from every angle on Clifford. At times, he was not able to distribute the ball or get it out of his hands. Third-year wideout Samori Toure had a chance to play against the Broncos, but he was the only starter to see the field.

Most of the wide receiving core has prior experience within the last two seasons. Christian Watson was limited in 2023 with injuries. Jayden Reed could be the biggest surprise for the Green Bay Packers after having an impressive rookie campaign last year. Romeo Doubs can make the tough catches downfield.

Jordan Love will be the starting signal caller for Matt Lafleur entering 2024 after signing a four-year $220 million contract several weeks ago.

Green Bay Packers Defense

The defense was not the sharpest against Denver either. As a whole, they gave up a total of 27 points and unfortunately could not get stops. As many starters will not see action today, the Green Packers will have to play a smarter brand of football and show their depth on the defensive line and in the secondary.

On Thursday, Green Bay signed a defensive tackle from the UFL. With injuries that occurred during their last joint practice, the organization decided to add another playmaker to their defense. Rashan Gary and Kenny Clark will bring that dominant pass rush for the Packers after the preseason concludes.

It is uncertain if Matt LaFleur will play any of his defensive guys. Lafleur has already clarified that none of the offensive players will play today. Baltimore has offensive weapons in Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry that will carry their load for the bulk of the scoring.

The NFL regular season is edging closer. Green Bay Packers fans are intrigued to see how their team will play after they made an appearance in the playoffs last season.  The Green Bay Packers will start the regular season with a game in international territory. They will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil on September 6.
