The Green Bay Packers are heading into Week Two of the regular season. While there has been plenty of optimism regarding their starting quarterback Jordan Love, more news has been released on his status as Week Two is near for the Green Bay Packers football team.
Head coach Matt Lafleur has kept Packers fans hopeful that Jordan Love could return sooner than anticipated. According to Ian Rappaport of ESPN, the Green Bay Packers signal caller will remain out for several weeks with the injury.
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love Out Several Weeks

Jordan Love was originally listed to be out three to six weeks after his injury in Week One. Unfortunately, that time frame still exists for the Green Bay Packers quarterback.
On Thursday head coach Matt Lafleur claimed the door was still open for a possible return. But, ESPN reporter Ian Rappaport had other news.
The good news for the Green Bay Packers is that they have other options at the quarterback position moving forward. Backup quarterback Malik Willis was named the starter on Tuesday if Love would not be able to play.
It looks like that will be the case on Sunday when the team takes on the Indianapolis Colts at Lambeau Field.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Options
Green Bay has two options at quarterback to fill in for the injured Jordan Love. For the next several weeks it will be either Malik Willis or Sean Clifford until the starting headman returns to the field.
Willis has only started in three games during his NFL career. In his time with the Tennessee Titans, he held a record of 1-2. If he can distribute the ball to his receivers on offense, the team will be in good shape as the season moves forward.
Willis is in need of more experience as a starting quarterback. Sean Clifford did not have a good performance during the preseason so he will likely be the third-string guy in the same position.
Final Thoughts
Coaches and fans of the Green Bay Packers are hoping that their starting quarterback can make a return sooner than what is expected. In order to win games this season, the Green Bay Packers have to stay as healthy as possible.
They came close to winning the first game, despite the mistakes and missed opportunities that they were not able to capitalize on late in the game against the Eagles in Week One.
The Green Bay Packers will take on the Indianapolis Colts at Lambeau Field for the first time this season. The game will be televised on Fox at 1:00 pm ET on Sunday afternoon.
