The Green Bay Packers have played their first preseason game of the 2024 NFL season. The team’s preseason debut was a success as they beat the Cleveland Browns on the road by a score of 23-10. On Tuesday, the Packers received some good news as one of their new incoming offensive linemen returned to the practice.
Rookie Offensive Lineman, Jordan Morgan was able to suit up for practice again on Tuesday. Morgan suffered a shoulder injury just a week ago before the Green Bay Packers’ first preseason game over the weekend. He could see live action in the next preseason game if his recovery progresses throughout the rest of practice this week.

Green Bay drafted Jordan Morgan in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He was picked at number 25 as the Packers’ first selection back in April. Though Jordan Morgan returned to the practice field, he saw limited reps on the sidelines away from the rest of his teammates as he took part in individual drills on his own.
The Green Bay Packers rookie will be a big boost for the offensive line, playing more at the right guard position. His primary spot on the field in college was at the same position, as Green Bay is trying to place him in a familiar role. If the rookie can impress his coaches during the preseason, Morgan could get a starting spot during the regular season.
There is a possibility that the option to also play at left tackle is available as well according to Packers Offensive Coordinator Adam Stenavich, and Head Coach Matt LaFleur. With Morgan getting an opportunity to have a starting role as the preseason continues, Green Bay has true faith in their first-round selection.
Green Bay Packers Offense Going Into 2024
It is known the Green Bay Packers have landed their signal caller in Jordan Love after he signed a contract extension for four years worth $220 million. The offensive line needs restructuring as former left tackle, David Bakhtiari is no longer with the organization after 118 starts since he was drafted back in 2013.
Among other veterans that have departed is another popular name Jon Runyan. Runyan played four seasons with the Green Bay Packers as a right guard. During free agency, the five-year offensive player signed a three-year deal with the New York Giants. Undoubtedly, Jordan Morgan could be taking over in that spot in the upcoming 2024 season.
In the passing game, Green Bay should be in good hands with experience at the wideout position. Jayden Reed is entering his second season after having an impressive rookie year in 2023 with 64 catches for 793 yards, and eight touchdowns. He is one player that fans should be on the lookout for.
If Christian Watson can remain healthy for 2024, he is due for a breakout year after missing most of the previous season due to injuries. At running back, it will look a little different with Josh Jacobs in the backfield to replace Aaron Jones, who has been traded to the Minnesota Vikings.
Preseason contests will continue this week as the Green Bay Packers will travel to Empower Field at Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos on August 18th at 8:00 pm. The team’s second preseason game will be televised on NFL Network.
