Green Bay Packers Beat Cardinals 34-13 In Blowout Win

Green Bay Packers quarterback, Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers (4-2) took care of the Arizona Cardinals (2-4) at Lambeau Field on Sunday by a score of 34-13. The first half for the Packers looked to have put them in a good position to win with a huge lead early. It took the Arizona Cardinals offense some time to put points on the board.

Both sides of the ball performed well as the Green Bay Packers beat Arizona by three scores. Here is a recap of the Green Bay Packers win on Sunday against the Cardinals at Lambeau Field in week six.

Green Bay Packers Shine On Offense

Green Bay Packers wide receiver, Romeo Doubs
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs (87) celebrates scoring a touchdown with wide receiver Christian Watson (9), wide receiver Jayden Reed (11) and running back Emanuel Wilson (31) against the Arizona Cardinals during their football game Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Jordan Love became the first Packers quarterback since the great Brett Favre to throw four touchdown passes in back-to-back home games in one season. Love only threw 10 incomplete passes as he went 22-32 for 258 yards and one interception. Three wideouts for Green Bay played a vital role in scoring on offense. Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs both returned to the field against Arizona yesterday.

Doubs caught three passes for 49 yards and got into the end zone twice during the game. Christian Watson also had three receptions for 68 yards and one score. Second-year wide receiver Jayden Reed added to the scoring total with a team-high six catches for 28 yards and a short touchdown pass. Green Bay gained control in the first half after going up 24-0.

Only 10 points were scored offensively in the second half for the Green Bay Packers. The early offensive success helped the team gain positive momentum. However, the defense stepped up in a big way to secure the victory on their end.

Green Bay Packers Defensive Aggression

Packers linebacker Quay Walker led the defense in tackles with 10 solo. As a unit, they forced three fumbles behind star cornerback Jaire Alexander, Karl Brooks, and defensive tackle Kenny Clark with one recovery each on defense. The interior defensive line held Cardinals running back James Conner to under 50 yards on the ground.

Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback Kyler Murray went 22-32 for 214 yards and one touchdown as penalties stalled their offense through both halves. Arizona could not overcome the bad start and mistakes that resulted in the loss.

Conclusion

As the 2024 NFL season continues for the Green Bay Packers, they will have to maintain the same aggressiveness on both sides of the ball. The team is destined for great things if they can stay together and on the same page with one another.

The Green Bay Packers will face a tough opponent, the Houston Texans (5-1) in week seven at Lambeau Field for the third straight home game. Houston has one of the top offenses in the National Football League through six games this year. The game will be televised at 1:00 pm ET on CBS.
