Green Bay Packers 2025 NFL Draft Preview

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have made the playoffs in the past two seasons under Jordan Love. They are built on a young core of players, being one of the youngest teams in the league. Last year, an improved defense was the big story of the year, but the team still has some holes. In the past few drafts, they have found some quality players, with two players making the All-Rookie team last season. This year, the team hopes to add to its talented roster. Here is the 2025 NFL Draft preview for the Packers.

Green Bay Packers 2025 NFL Draft Picks

The Green Bay Packers have eight draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

  • Round 1: No. 23
  • Round 2: No. 54
  • Round 3: No. 87
  • Round 4: No. 124
  • Round 5: No. 159
  • Round 6: No. 198
  • Round 7: No. 237 (from Steelers),
  • Round 7: No. 250 (Compensatory Selection)

The Green Bay Packers have all of their own picks until the seventh round. Last season, they traded veteran pass rusher Preston Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers could swing some trades, but GM Brian Gutekunst has often been aggressive in free agency and not in the draft.

Team Needs

The Green Bay Packers have some needs on the defensive side of the ball. On the defensive side, the defensive line needs some depth. Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness were disappointments last season. On the interior line, Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt were good but the people behind them on the depth chart disappointed, and they lost TJ Slaton in free agency. They need to add some juice to the line. Cornerback depth is also needed, though the Jaire Alexander situation still needs to be figured out to get a clearer picture.

On the offensive side of the ball, the loss of Christian Watson to an ACL injury means the team needs a receiver that can stretch the field. More weapons are never a bad thing. The team added to the offensive line in free agency but could still use some help at the tackle position. Rasheed Walker was inconsistent last year, and the team wants options.

Mock Draft

  • Round 1: No. 23: Mykel Williams Edge Georgia
  • Round 2: No. 54: Azareye’h Thomas CB Florida State
  • Round 3: No. 87: Wyatt Milum OT West Virginia
  • Round 4: No. 124: Tory Horton WR Colorado State
  • Round 5: No. 159: Jamaree Caldwell DL Oregon
  • Round 6: No. 198: Chase Lundt OT UConn
  • Round 7: No. 237: Craig Woodson S California
  • Round 7: No. 250: Alijah Huzzie CB North Carolina

Mock Draft Analysis

The Green Bay Packers go defense again in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Last year’s pick of Jordan Morgan was the first offensive player taken since Love. Williams is a quality edge out of Georgia, and Gutekunst has a history of taking Bulldogs in the draft. Thomas has been projected in the first round in some mocks, and he adds some good depth to the cornerback room. The entire draft leans toward defense, with three of the four picks on day three going to that side of the ball.

Offensively, the Packers get a quality offensive lineman in Milum. He can play anywhere on the line, something the team has prioritized with their past picks. They like versatility on the line and also add Lundt for more depth. Horton is a quality receiver out of Colorado State and can add some depth to the room while Watson recovers.

Final Thoughts

The Green Bay Packers have their work cut out for them this season. Their division has gotten much better. Detroit is still the team to beat, while the Vikings and Bears have loaded up in free agency. They will have to play better than last year to beat the best teams in the NFC. Can they nail the draft and reclaim the NFC North crown?
