The Governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, confirmed that they are not going to host the upcoming matches of WWE in their state, but now they have taken back their statement and clarified to everyone that this was a mistake and they are looking forward to hosting WWE events in the future. Manuel Bonder is the spokesman for the Governor of Pennsylvania, and on behalf of the Governor, he made it clear to everyone that they look forward to hosting WWE in 2025, saying that the spokesman appreciated the fans and management of WWE for their presence.
Deleted Post of Governor of Pennsylvania
“This statement was mistaken, and we apologize for the confusion amid all the incredible events Pennsylvania is excited to host in 2026. While WrestleMania won’t be here in ‘26, we look forward to continuing to work with WWE and wrestling fans all across our Commonwealth to bring more great events to Pennsylvania in the future.”
This is the original post of Bonder that was posted officially from the office of the Governor of Pennsylvania. However, a few hours later it was deleted. It appears the office of the governor will try their level best to bring WWE back. They are hosting very big events in Philadelphia, and they can’t get enough. They also have baseball matches coming up, which will include the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, plus they will host the upcoming FIFA World Cup. And for a special touch, they also have golf matches. And they are also, of course, looking forward to getting the big events of WrestleMania.
Reply from WWE
The WWE officials were shocked to see the news from the Governor of Pennsylvania. They were not informed before, and the officials of the state made this news public quickly. On such short notice, they can’t reschedule outside of Pennsylvania. Recently they managed to have a big event in Germany (Bash in Berlin), which was a comeback of WWE after a long time. The Governor of Pennsylvania would probably want to have the big events of the WWE rather than just letting it go to another country, but that’s unclear at this point.
The decision of WrestleMania 41 is confirmed, and it will take place in Las Vegas. Although the Governor of Pennsylvania is looking forward to hosting WrestleMania 42, it’s not going to be a problem if they have 41 already scheduled. WrestleMania 41 will take place in Nevada, and WWE is yet to announce other venues. However, rumors indicate that Indianapolis may host a WWEania in the future, while there are other theories that London, England, as well as one city in Saudi Arabia, can become the hosts as well.
Final Thoughts
Every city and state deserves to have big events like WrestleMania, but they can also have other big sports events hosted in their cities, like football, cricket, etc. However, it’s not clear from the Governor of Pennsylvania and other officials whether they want to host the main event of WWE or not because they have already deleted the posts indicating they don’t.
