Meanwhile, the New York Knicks are holding down the No. 4 spot in the Eastern Conference. Unlike the Warriors, New York has posted just three wins across their last 10 decisions. This includes a 115-92 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night.
Donte DiVincenzo scored a team-high 23 points but shot 8-for-21 from the field and 7-for-18 from beyond the arc.
Bojan Bogdanovic finished with 20 points and five assists off the bench, while Josh Hart contributed 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Already down three starters – Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, and DiVincenzo Robinson – both Jalen Brunson and Isaiah Hartenstein also sat out the game against the Pelicans. The Knicks struggled without their leading scorer on the court, shooting 37.3 percent overall and 30.4 percent from long range.
“We knew we were going to have to have volume 3s and make them if we were going to have a chance,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said, via ESPN. “I like the shots that we got. We missed a lot of wide-open shots to start the third and that led to not making transition the way we needed to.”
The New York Knicks have allowed at least 110 points in their last eight outings. The team’s defense will be tested once again as the Warriors have the sixth-highest points-per-game average in the association.
